Puppeteer (Bucky X Reader)

Part 7

(Warnings: Flash backs, tiny bit of mom Steve, and a bit of fluff)

Screaming, explosions, more screaming, yelling, cars honking, and shoes clacking against the concrete and asphalt. You opened your eyes and shot out your strings as Moose walked by your side. People where horrified of you and you felt nothing. HYDRA didn't make you have a decision on this mission. They took over your mind completely. Your mission was to wreck havoc and kill as many innocents you could. You where giving HYDRA a hard time because you didn't want to kill anyone anymore, so this was your punishment. You attacked people with your stings and with knives and guns. Shot after shot, nothing, no emotion. Moose was attacking people also like a rabid dog with rabies. "Y/-" A voice said but was cut off. "Y/n!" You tried to listen closely and only focused on the voice. "Y/n!"

You shot awake breathing heavily. Looking around the room it was dark but you saw a metal arm shinning in the moon light. "Y/n it's just a nightmare." Bucky said softly as he reached his hand out to help you up. You took it and sat up looking down at your lap. Moose was asleep, you could tell by his snores. "It wasn't, I killed them for no reason. I felt nothing! I should have felt something!" You said becoming angry with yourself. Bucky looked at you saddened and pulled you into a hug. At first you tensed up then slowly relaxed into him. "Want to talk about it?" He asked even questioning himself. Suddenly the other super soldier in the building came in. "Buck is Y/n ok? Friday told me she was having a nightmare." Steve said and walked over to you two. "I'm fine Steve." You said and pulled away from Bucky. "Go ahead and talk about it, we will listen." He said looking at you with puppy dog eyes, you couldn't resist.

After explaining the nightmare to them, both soldiers looked full of sadness. Bucky had a slight bit of anger in his eyes as well. Steve noticed the anger and was confused yet intrigued but now wasn't the time. "Y/n that wasn't you, they there manipulating you. You didn't have a choice." Steve explained his point of view. "Yeah but I still did it. I couldn't break through." You said and looked down. Steve looked down at the floor then got up. "We can talk more later today, it's twelve in the morning." Steve said and put his right hand on your left shoulder giving a comforting squeeze before leaving. You where a still a bit shaken up. Sure that wasn't the worst thing you have done but it was still horrible. "Get some rest." Bucky said softly then got up. Like a child your grabbed his pointer finger. With him looking at you confused you pleaded, "Please. I know you probably wouldn't be comfortable with it but I want someone." It seemed like he barely thought about it. Bucky nodded then softly picked up Moose and moved him from the other side of the bed. As he got in you slowly made your way closer to him. You grabbed his left hand softly and he jolted. It replaced his left hand for his right flesh one. For some reason your heart picked up pace and your stomach felt weird, but you felt safe. After laying there in silence you two eventually fell asleep.

When you woke up you felt cold yet warm. You looked around and there was no trace of Bucky or Moose. Sighing you got out of bed and stumbled out of the room with blurry vision. You needed tea ASAP. Making your way to the kitchen eventually you found a few people eating. It was Clint, Natasha, Wanda, a white haired man, and Vision. Natasha smiled warmly at you and you returned the favor. "Good morning bed head." Sam said as he walked into the room with Steve. You gave a simple wave and walked over to the stove. "Not a morning person?" Wanda asked as she topped off her coffee. "Nope, not at all. Recently I've been able to be lazy but I'm guessing that going to come to an end?" You asked and looked at her, she shrugged in response. "Nat I swear to god!" Clint said trying to grab his coffee. "Not till you give me my sandwich back!" She said and earned a groan from the archer. Smiling you went back to focusing on your tea. "What do you say we go shopping after Y/n here wakes up fully?" Natasha asked looking to Wanda and you. You nodded and hummed in response. "Sure, that will be fun." Wanda said and walked over to the white haired man. "Anyone seen Bucky?" You asked mainly wanting to know where Moose was. "Him and Moose are on a run Steve said and sipped some coffee. Nodding you began to prepare your tea.

"Come on let's go!" Natasha said sitting behind the wheel of a car you weren't familiar with. "I'm coming cool your tits Nat." You said and got into the backseat since Wanda was in the front. "They are calm. Okay here we go." Natasha said and drove to a store. After hours of shopping you had many outfits for every occasion possible. "I'm so tired." Wanda said as Natasha paid for everyone's clothes with Tony's card. "Me too. Why is this tiring? It's just walking around looking at clothes and trying them on." You said and sighed closing your eyes. Everything went silent and suddenly you where free falling. Letting out a scream you looked around but suddenly where hit with the floor. You let out a groan and rolled over onto your back.

"Why are you in New York? First with James Barnes then Natasha Romanoff and Wanda Maximoff?" A man with a red cloak on asked you. "I don't know. Also, a motorcycle ride and shopping. Why did you kidnap me and how?" You answered his questions then asked your own. "I got you here through a portal. Why is because you're a threat to the city." He said and pulled you up. "Well no shit Sherlock I could have told you that. I know what I have done but that's behind me." You said and looked at the man. "What's your name?" You asked cutting your eyes at him. "Strange, Doctor Strange." He said looking at you. "Oh my god." You mumbled, eyes widening. "Shouldn't you be doing surgeries not here in this weird building?" You asked confused. He also seemed confused on how you knew him. "Someone I knew was a physic, Hydra used her to look into the future for possible threats." You said and he nodded. After a few minutes of talking he sent you back to the girls.

Falling onto the floor you grunted and got up. "Where the hell did you go?" Natasha asked panicking. "Just has a talk with someone without knowing." You said looking at her. "He wasn't Hydra if that's what you're wondering. He actually brought me there to him because I'm a threat." You said and looked down. Softly Wanda put a hand on your back. "Let's go back." She said and Natasha nodded in agreement. Everyone took their bags and walked to the car to make the drive back to the compound.
