Chapter 31

3 years later

Hope

It's actually 8.30 in the morning and I'm really late for work. 

I get ready as fast as I can and while I put some makeup on, Bin just sits down on the ground next to me, staring at the mirror like she does everyday. I hurriedly apply some makeup and pet him before I go down to the kitchen. 

"You are late for work." My roommate points out. 

"Yea. Thank you for waking me up by the way." I states sarcastically and she just laughs. 

"Oh, your welcome."

I grab a pancake and run out the door, saying bye to her and Bin. 

I grab a taxi and get urge guy to hurry to go to Green Globe.

I was promoted as the Assistant Manager about an year ago. It's the position Seth had before he resigned. Jacob was promoted as well, 2 years ago so I had his job until I got this one now. It's bad when I get late cause as the Assistant Manager, it is actually one requirement to come in early. I hope today won't get me in trouble. 

Last night, me and my roommate stayed awake until late, watching movies. We watch all of Game of Thrones season 1 and tonight we have to watch 2. I hope I won't get late tomorrow as well. I'm really sleepy now since I only had like 4 hours of sleep. 

I still miss Seth a lot. But I've gotten used to the constant ache in my heart and my ring finger. Every thought about Seth still makes my heart ache. 

I actually googled why my finger hurt and some say that it's cause that's the only finger that has a direct vein from the heart and also that was one of the reason for putting the ring in that finger. Some say it's a serious medical problem. I don't know what to believe actually. 

We were given a notice yesterday to say that Mr. James is retiring today. We don't really know who the new manager is yet. There are some changes made in the high management board as well. All of those are said to be announced tonight after working hours so today, everyone is nervous. 

We are a little happy to hear that Mr. James is retiring today. I mean, He is a good person but he is to strict and hard. He gives a lot of paperwork for us to do and it's just really annoying. Plus, he comes up with ideas to make work more efficient but that just make us all more tiring. But bad aside, he was a good leader. He undertood others well. 

I get to work at around 8.55. I slip in with no one really noticing. Well.. Almost no one.

"Where the hell have you been?" Jake asks as he comes into my office. 

"Chill dude. I was only late for like one and a half hour." I say shrugging. 

"I know but still." I look at him raising my eyebrows. "There's a lot of customers today." He point that out and walk away, scowling. 

He came out to being gay to everyone. Most of them was okay and was really supportive. Some made rude remarks. Not everyone's the same. Jake ignored them and they eventually stopped making fun of him. His parents didn't take it very well. His father didn't talk to him for about a week before he accepted him and his mother cried a lot. They got okay with him saying that they love him no matter what.
