Justin's POV:
Hailey was wheeled right into a birthing suite in the Labor and Delivery Unit.
I was right behind her, until I was stopped by a nurse.
"Mr.Bieber, they are going to need a couple of minutes to get your wife situated.
My name is Alexa. I am going to be one of the nurses assisting your wife with delivery.
I need you to fill out a couple of forms and get a copy of your health insurance card.
Is that ok?"

Is that ok?
Fuck no it wasn't ok.
I wanted to be right by my wife's side, not filling out paperwork with Alexa.
But I had to play nice, I needed these people on my side.
So sweet Justin is what they'd get.

"Alexa, sure that's ok.
I'm just really nervous right now and I need to make some phone calls to our parents as well.
What if the baby comes while I'm filling out this paperwork?"

I sucked at paperwork.
And I felt a panic attack coming on.
Alexa could sense my distress and jumped in to save me.

"Justin, just breathe.
In and Out.
Good.
The baby won't come that quick.
You'll have enough time to be right beside your wife.
Now sit here and use this pen.
Fill out what you can.
We'll figure the rest out later.
Give me the phone numbers for your parents and I'll call them for you.
Just focus on the paperwork.
I'm going to get you a cup of coffee.
Is sugar and cream ok?"

I decided that Alexa was an Angel from above, sent to help me during this moment.
I nodded, hoping my eyes conveyed my gratitude.
The paperwork was not that complicated, but I realized I was in sweat pants with no back pockets...and I left my wallet at home.
My wallet that had our insurance card in it.
I was full on sweating with stress as Alexa came walking back with a cup of coffee.

"Justin, you look like you just ran over a puppy.
Is the paperwork that bad?
Don't worry about it.
I also notified your Mother and Hailey's parents.
Their on the way."

Alexa handed me the cup of coffee, and I was so nervous that I just gulped it down immediately.
It was scalding hot and I ended up spraying Alexa as I spit it out of my mouth.
"Fuuuuuck my mouth is on fire!"
I looked at the poor nurse who was dripping in hot coffee that I spit out.
Then I went to put the cup down and accidentally spilled the rest right down my pants.
"My dick! Holy hell...I'm losing it!
I'm sorry Alexa!
For spraying you with coffee and for not having my insurance card on me.
I promise I can pay for it!
Cash if you want, I just don't have any on me right now."
Another staff member came up to us with towels and helped pick up my mess.
"Justin, we've got to get it together before you go into that room.
Hailey is going to need you to be functioning on all cylinders.
And don't worry about the coffee or insurance card, your not my first new Dad.
I'll look and see if Hailey already has it on file with us.
And I'll get you a set of scrubs to change into."
Alexa was my saving grace.
And after I changed into the scrubs, Dr.Bermudez came to get me.
She updated me on Hailey's progress before walking me in.
"Justin, we're in labor!
I checked Hailey out, and her water broke at home.
She's about 4cm dilated and 70% effaced.
The baby's heart beat is good and she seems to be tolerating the contractions.
Hailey on the other hand, not so much.
But she doesn't want any pain medication as of right now.
So be prepared for some unpleasant screaming.
Just help her through it."
Dr.Bermudez grabbed me into a hug and then placed her hands on my shoulders.
She was giving me a look that read,
"Good luck in there buddy...may the force be with you."
"So how long are we thinking doc?"
I for sure thought maybe an hour tops.
"This could be as fast as 2 hours or last days.
It's all up to your daughter and wife's body working together."
