Chapter 29: The Misconception

"Gisella Molinero, please come here," Signora Jolanda called from her office landline.

I got up from my chair walking down to her office. "Here I am, Team leader,"

she looks at me with a bright smile. "Gisella, you did very well last month. Thus, I want you to do this important interview. Director Santoro from the Apex company will be broadcasting live, so we'll interview him this time,"

"Director Santoro? Pietro Santoro?" I flinched in shock.

Signora Jolanda's face was immediately fixed with confusion. "Yes, that's him,"

I grasp. "I...I..think, I can't..." I murmured.

She raised a confused eyebrow. "Why not? several people in the company saw him came to see you,"

Oh dear lord, It's true, Pietro has been here before. "It's not like that, Team leader, I..."

She exhales. "Gisella, I see you as a great person. That is why I decided to let you do this interview. you are the perfect interviewer for this, so go and prepare the interview's print line first!" she smiles. "You can go now," I signed as I nod at her and exit the door.

"Gisella, what is it?" Leonora who was about seating down on her chair questions me who was already frustrated.

I sign and sat down looking at the plain sheet of paper that was laying clean on my table. "Team leader asked me to interview Director Santoro from the Apex company. it was chief director Russo that put me up, and someone told her that I am friends with him. I can't do it,"

She sniffs. "Director Santoro?" She said thinking. "Was he the handsome one that came looking for you last time at the coffee shop? what's up with you and him?" she sounds excited.

I roll my eyes at her. "Alas, Forget it,"

"Why? are Cats getting out of the bag?" The most irritating human on earth arrived. I wish I could create an abyss for her to rest in peace. "You know, Chief Publisher, Russo Durante brought this interview to my table but I referred it to your team, you should thank me later," she added with a grin.

No wonder! why does Bianca Conte despise me so much? what have I done to her for so much hate given to me?

"Is there anything odd with this interview?" Leonora questions with doubts in her voice. "What is happening with you Team leader Conte?"

Bianca smirks. "Nothing odd, I am afraid that someone is too guilty to take the risk. Afraid to meet him since he is now married to your rival? or more afraid to be roughneck by his legal wife?"

"Team leader Conte, what nonsense are you talking about!" Leonora flames up. She shakes her head and turns to walk away. "I'm not talking nonsense. You will know sooner or later," she walks away.

What is wrong with this woman? she thinks that I am the third party...she seems like she is digging up stuff about me.

Bianca Conte entered her office and  texted Viola Moretti

A few hours later, I handover the print line to Signora Jolanda. "Here is the print line, Signora,"

she smiles as she takes the file from me and goes through it. "The new interview print line is okay. Since you and Director Santoro are close, you can meet up with him privately on trivial matters before you start the interview," she smiles, the kind that reaches her gold eyes. "Afterwards, I'll arrange for him to come here and take pictures for the cover page,"

I sigh. "Okay,"

"If it wasn't for you being able to get an interview with Nicolo Caruso, we wouldn't have sold out all of our copies, now the Barone publishing company is meeting up the number 2nd best publishing in Italy and other cities," she smiles slightly. "Chief publisher will surely reward you," she added. "This is extra of the previous work of last month," she hands over it to me.

Wow, it carries a picture of my husband on the cover page. Why he's he so handsome?"Thank you, Team leader," I smile like a maniac hugging the book. "I go now and call Director Santoro's office," I smile and walk out.

I sat down on my chair and decided to dial Pietro's secretary's number. On the first attempt, she picks up. "Hello, This is Secretary Carlotta from the Apex company, How may I help you?" her voice was a bit meek. exhale. "I am a publisher from the Barone publishing company. we want to remind Director Santoro about the interview in two days,"

"No problem Madam, I'll let him know," She says.

"Very well, thank you very much. I am looking forward Bye," i hang up.

Dear Lord, help me on this mission that I know it's unpleasant. I am tired of looking at the face that I once fell for, but now, I don't know what is making me feel uncomfortable. I know what to do, I'll think about my Nicolo during the interview, his sexy bright eyes and brown long hair that he always bun. I've to get over Pietro now.

"I am going to do this," I reprimand myself.
