Ch 13: Saved Hearts

Mao Mao walked through alleyways, looking for even a sign that Badgerclops and
Adorabat were around.
“Guys, where are you?” Quickly turning a corner, he looked into the streets. Before he
could find them though, Badgerclops found him.
“... Mao Mao?” Badgerclops looked around, checking if Oam was around. The cape
Adorabat gave him was blown in the wind as they stared at each other.
“BADGERCLOPS!” Mao Mao ran up to Badgerclops, jumping into his now open arms.
“What took you so long?” Badgerclops hugged Mao Mao tightly, afraid to let go.
“Oam kept me in the temple. But that doesn’t matter.” Mao Mao wrapped his arms
around Badgerclops, smiling to himself.
“... I don’t want to let go.” Badgerclops sighed, pulling in Mao Mao.
“Neither do I. It feels like if I do, I’ll lose you again.” Mao Mao rested his head on
Badgerclops shoulders. Badgerclops slowly left the hug, leaving his hands on Mao Mao’s
shoulderers. With tears in his eyes, Badgerclops quickly pulled Mao Mao into a kiss, not caring if
someone saw him. Mao Mao closed his eyes, enjoying every second of it. As the two pulled
away, they stared into each others eyes, smiling all the while. Badgerclops’ smile quickly fell
though, worrying Mao Mao.
“... But Mao Mao… Why was there a razor in your room?” Mao Mao froze.
“I… I don’t know how to answer.”
“Why not with the truth?” Badgerclops placed a hand on Mao Mao’s check.
“I…” Mao Mao then started to cry, hugging Badgerclops tightly. “I’m sorry, I just- I’m
sorry.” Mao Mao held onto Badgerclops, his tears wetting his fur. Badgerclops hugged him
back.
“Let’s just… go home.” Picking Mao Mao up, Badgerclops walked home with him in his
arms. By the time they were home, Mao Mao had fallen asleep, smiling in his sleep. Gently
opening the door, Badgerclops froze. Adorabat was sitting on the couch, staring at Badgerclops.
“Don’t yell.” Badgerclops was about to go to Mao Mao’s room, wanting to let him sleep.
“MAO MAO!” Adorabat flew up to Mao Mao, having woken him with the sudden yell.
“Oh, come on.” Badgerclops facepalmed as Adorabat hugged Mao Mao. Mao Mao
quickly hugged Adorabat, tears in his eyes.
“I’m finally home.”
