The girl smiles in all the little photographs, I wish I could remember her, she seems loved, I wonder if she believed that.
Pigtails and boy clothes, she's beautiful, I wonder if she knew that, she laughs and seems happy, I wish I could remember that.
Photographs make me cry, remembering a child I no longer recognize, I wish someone had warned her, she's too small for this pain.
I love her, I don't want her to hurt, sensitive and desperate for affection, I don't want her to grow up, this pain is too much.
Please, someone hold her, she's crying in the dark, I love her, she's too small to be carving these marks, she's only a child.
She's too small, she feels so much, she'll hurt herself hiding all this pain, I love her, I love her, this child that looks like me.
Photographs make me cry, little me has no idea the struggles to come, someone hold her, she's too small for this pain.
