Demons.

Vile creatures that are only known for causing a huge dent to humanity's safety. Day and night, humans are devoured by them. It is stated that their origin comes from Kibutsuji Muzan.

As of now, there has been only one known type of demon. Those that feasted on humans and can only be defeated through the use of being under the presence of the sun and being beheaded by a nichirin blade.

However, there is still one type left.

The demons that instead of eating human flesh, they consume human souls due to a contract created. Howbeit, if the demon itself felt indebted enough to a person, the contract regarding the consumption of their soul will be nonexistent. But instead, will continue to serve them without asking for any sort of payment.

It was a mess, all of it was! Just before he left, smiles grazed on their faces, but the minute he returned, they were all lifeless. Except for one, and that is his sibling Nezuko. He could still feel the faint warmth emmitted by the said girl, so without further ado, he climbed down the mountain as fast as he can. No room for rests, he thought. Even though he felt his lungs being prickled by a thousand needles, his body betokening him to stop, and the lightheadedness he felt, it wasn't enough for him to halt his running.

The one thing he least expected the most happened. His beloved sister tried to attack him, but one look at her told him everything he needed to know. Nezuko.. his sibling, turned into a demon. It was luck though that he'd managed to block of the bites of Nezuko using the current materials he has on his form. Everything stopped, his mind stopped working, he didn't know what to do anymore.

NO!

You've got to be strong, Tanjiro! He uplifts himself. You're the eldest brother, you must protect Nezuko! You must do all it takes to revert her back into being a human.. He was left shock though, once he saw the tears that escaped her eyes, he felt his heart being crushed into a million pieces. If only.. If only he's gotten home a little sooner. Would things change? Or would it remain the same?

Moments passed, and he can't take it anymore. Nezuko was now in the grasps of the male with the dual haori, with his sister struggling, making his heart ache all the more for being so useless.

"No!" Tanjiro shouted as the unknown man swung his katana at her, making his now-turned sister howl in pain. "Please stop!" he shouted once again hoping that his words wouldn't fall on deaf ears. "I'd appreciate it if you stop trying to hurt my lord and his sister," one voice poked out of the thin air.

Once Tanjiro had whipped his head towards the owner of the voice, what greeted him was the countenance of a woman donning the expression that greatly indicated that she didn't appreciate the actions of the man ornamented with a dual haori. She was wearing a black yukata and a white haori draped over her. What sported her feet was a geta.

Before he knew it, his sister was already in his arms, causing question marks to fill his mind. He didn't mind it though, as long as his sister was safe. What he wasn't sure of was who this woman was and why she decided to help him. You bowed to him as he stared at you with shock-filled eyes. "I apologize for coming so late, sire," you said as you turned your head to one of the hashiras before you, your eyes lightened up in recognition.

"Ah, Giyu Tomioka, what a great day it is, huh? Too bad, you inflicted pain on my master and that is something I cannot forgive," you said with a smile still on your face. Tanjiro was still boggled. Master? My lord? Those were the terms you referred to him as. Or as far as to what he knew since no other person was here in this area. He was shook off from his thoughts when he saw Nezuko struggling. "Nezuko, are you alright?!" he asked frantically. He knew that that wasn't the best question to as ask of the moment and that she was incapable of speaking, but due to the heat of the situation, he was left with quite the irrational thinking.

"Wh-" Tanjiro opened his mouth to say since before he knew it, you were in front of him in a flash. "As much as I'd like for you to at least have some sort of entertainment, I'm afraid I have to put you two to sleep," and as you placed your hands on the cheeks of the two, they were immediately lulled into a deep slumber.

"Now," you turned towards the man who was still poker-faced, standing still as he awaited for you next move. "What are you doing here? It is a shock that you're still alive after all the years that have passed," his voice, monotone as his eyes were trained on you.

"I'm not a normal human being, Tomioka. It'd take more than some nichirin to kill me," you chuckled before charging towards him within a flash. "Why are you protecting that weak boy and his demonic sister? You are one as well, so I'm not surprised with the latter," he said as you two exchanged attacks. You'd swing at him, he'd dodge. He'd attack, and you'd block it or dodge.

"My, you've become very talkative, haven't you?" you said as you launched black orbs at him, those that've landed on the snow exploded. It seemed that it left a huge punch since the nearby trees as well have dents in them or marks rendering the damage your attack has caused.

"But to answer your question, that young boy is my master," you paused as you stopped attacking, and so did he. "And due to seeing him protect his sibling so much to the point that he'd risk his life, what kind of servant would I be if I don't provide any help in his endeavors?" your smile remained on your face. Even though it hasn't wavered even one bit, it made your ministrations more menacing.

"A demon being a servant? How humorous," he said, voice still as stoic as ever, contradicting his ending statement. "Not that much. You're not dimwitted, so you'd know that devouring humans isn't really my thing," you said as you finally faced him. You weren't that close to him nor were you too far. The distance was just right.

"Ah! Allow me to introduce myself once more," you bowed in front of him, a hand placed right where your nonexistent 'heart' was located.

"Greetings, L/n Y/n, the servant of the Kamado's."

"As I reach my demise, I can foretell something bad will happen in the near future. I want you to protect my family if any demons were to arrive," Tanjuro said. You bowed, showing how much power he has over you. "Accompany him as he ventures on his journey. Make sure that he'd receive that utmost protection from you." you didn't know why he even conjured thoughts like this. But with his vain remarks, you knew whom he was referring to and you were more than ready to do what was asked without a second thought.

"As you wish, my lord."

He's asked you to leave the premises, only to return if something horrible were to happen, and you weren't one to question what his intentions were.

And it seemed that something did. However, you were too late. "I apologize, if only had I arrived a tad bid earlier," you said with your eyes closed as you paid your respects to what had happened in his household.

Such a tragedy.
