Chapter 5: Night Fall

Before the group could discover why Audrey went bad, Grace needed to make sure that her husband was okay. Of course, she had to put her foot down about Uma and the gang being sticks in the mud. As the group went into the castle, Grace called out her husband's name countless times. Mal could see the distress in her friend's eyes and said to Grace, "He's probably busy with King stuff." Grace just looked at her with a saddened look, making Mal feel sad for her. Carlos said to Grace, "Don't worry, Gracie. If Audrey ever did come across him, Ben would never let her get her hands on you or anyone else." Uma rolled her eyes and said, "Alright, I think that Queenie needs a little bit more than reassurance from you guys. *Grace looked at her with a scowl* I mean it." Gil said, speaking up, "Uh, guys? Was this always here?" Grace walked over to where Gil was and recognized them immediately. She began to panic and ran to her and Ben's room, calling out her husband's name as she did. Uma turned to Mal and said, "What's up with her?" Mal replied, "Long story. I'll explain it later." The group ran after Grace and ended up in the knight room. They found the Queen pacing around, with blue smoke appearing around her. Gil said, "Is she okay?" Carlos inched closer to his distraught friend and said to Grace, "Grace, Gracie. Listen to me. *She had one ear perked up and continued to pace* We'll get through this, we always do. I'm gonna need you to trust us." At this, Grace had stopped pacing, causing everyone to give her a small smile. Harry noticed that one of knights moved and tried to grab the others' attention. He said, "Guys!!" Evie noticed this and said to Celia, "Stay with Grace." Grace slightly groaned, after regaining her composure from her panicked state. She made herself comfortable, next to Celia, and wrapped her tail around her paws. Celia made her way over to the pregnant wolf Queen, with Dude by her side as they watched the battle stand off.

Everyone burst into cheers of victory after defeating Audrey's manipulated knights. Grace smiled proudly at her friends, glad that her sword-fighting lessons with them were put in good use. Celia went to high five the Queen but realized that she had paws. Grace noticed this and gave Celia a fond smile. She nodded and the two high fived each other, giggling. Grace stood, at first unsteady, and went over to her friends. She said to them, as she stood between the two groups of VK's, "That was some good teamwork. However, there are some things that I will point out but later." After she said that, the friends went to their separate groups. Evie went to stand next to Grace and said to the group, "Come on, guys. This was so great! We were a team. *Grace nodded in agreement with her blue-haired friend* We work together. Come on. *Evie then tried to get Mal to join hands with her* Come on. *She then tried to get Uma to join but Uma refused* She sighed then looked at Grace, who shrugged her shoulders. Evie said, "You know what we should try? An icebreaker. You say something you like about another person. I'll start." The others slightly groaned and rolled their eyes, even Grace did since she knew where this was going. Celia watched the group with curiosity and interest. Evie turned to Harry and said to him, causing him to sigh in exasperation, "Harry. Great accent. Now, you go." Before Harry could reply, Uma turned to the others and said to them, "Is she always this perky?" Grace chuckled and replied, "Doesn't matter. Now, let's go. We're killing time and I need to find my husband before my crazed friend does."
