Sand and ash and salt and sunshine
simmer in the shimmering sea;
some sordid soul should seek solace there
in the sibilant hiss of softly cresting seafoam,
in the sigh of spindrift spray and singing seaside sandpipers,
on cerulean shores, 'neath sapphire skies,
sunbathing and smiling,
sneakily screening for sexy surfers
while summertime liason sets
city stress aside.
