title: comas
Tamaki x reader
- - -
Tamaki had honestly forgotten what happened. He was caught up in a fight, everything that came to his head was a blur.
The amount of debris which had been thrown at him, the reeking smell of the villain's dead body.
The screams of nearby civilians, how exhausted he was by the end of the battle, the smell of blood.
It was all faint and blurry.
The only thing he could clearly and vividly remember was your body.
You were laying on a pile of rubble, blood dripping down your face and pooling and staining your hero costume.
He remembered exactly how many scratches populated your body. He remembered the huge cash down your side, a huge stain on your hero costume.
He also worst of all he remembered your chest wasn't moving, neither was your entire body.
He remembered the feeling of every organ in his body, he remembered the feeling of not being able to breathe, the feeling of his knees buckling.
The feeling of him passing out.
That was all 3 months ago.
His thumb stroked your knuckles, looking up at you. Your eyes were closed, and how he wished to see the your e/c eyes again, the glimmer in your eyes as you looked at him.
He wished to hear you speak again, he desired the words you'd whisper to him every night. He missed the sound of your voice, especially when you said you loved him.
He tore his eyes from you, taking a shaky breath and looked up at the ceiling as he closed his eyes.
The only sound that was heard was the steady beeping of the heart monitor. He let go of your hand, resting his head in his hands.
"Why?" He croaked out, even though he knew you wouldn't respond. "Why was I so weak? I should've been by your side. Look where I am now. I'm so pathetic."
He felt hot tears well up in his eyes, his lungs burning as he held them back. "I'm so stupid. I don't even know if you'll ever wake up and it's all my fault! I never got to say goodbye, I never got to say I love you one last time. Why did you deserve this? It should've been me!"
He took a deep breath, tears pouring out of his eyes as he shot his head up to look at you. "I, f-fuck," he cursed, gripping his hair.
"I know people have had much worse, but it's like I can feel you slipping away. God, it hurts, it fucking hurts y/n. Please just wake up, I need you."
His heart was burning with a pain he had never experienced before like it was screaming. He moved his hands to his stomach like he was going to throw up.
"I fucking love you y/n. I miss you so much." He wept, clenching his eyes shut to try and stop the tears. "Please... please wake up."
He looked back up at you through teary eyes, wiping them away slowly. He chuckled softly before looking back down at the ground.
"What... what did I expect?"
He stood up from the chair, wiping his eyes as more tears fell. He tore his eyes away from you as much as it pained him.
"I love you, y/n. I'll see you tomorrow."
He opened the door to leave but he stopped as he heard a deep inhale, making his body jolt in shock.
"T-Tama?"
He slowly turned around, his heart racing inside his chest. He was greeted by tired e/c eyes staring at him, yet, the familiar glimmer in your eyes was still there as you recognised him.
Before you knew it, tears were soaking your hospital your gown, strong arms wrapped around you in a tight embrace, Tamaki's body shaking against you.
You were confused with what happened, overwhelmed by your boyfriend's strong emotions over you.
Your body was sore and tired, it felt like you had been sleeping for a decade. You were confused, but you were too distracted by Tamaki's lips peppering kisses over your face.
"I missed you so much, y/n."

It had been 2 weeks since the hospital incident, and you couldn't help but feel totally guilty. Tamaki was by your side the entire time, never missing the opportunity to steal a kiss, hug you or hold your hand.
You sauntered into your shared bedroom in one of Tamaki's hoodies and your sweatpants, grinning at him.
"Y-Y/n?" He choked out, his eyes wide and a deep blush tinting his face. You opened your arms with a soft smile.
"I've been in a coma for 3 months, don't you want me to make up for the 3 months of cuddles we both missed out on?"
