"I think I like you." She looked like she was hurt. "Hayes..." She looked down. "I don't know if we can work out... I don't really want to be in a relationship right now."
My face fell and I stuttered when I tried to talk. "B-but Maddie!" I was cut off by her saying "I think I should get back."
