Chapter 40

As the guys were working on new songs I was sitting on a couch and read a magazine. I got the feeling I was being watched again so I looked up from the magazine and saw Brian from the other side of the room looking at me. He looked down at his guitar and kept playing.

"Are you okay?" Freddie asked as he sat next to me

"Yeah.." I said "So what's Brian's deal? Why is he always staring at me?" I whispered at Freddie

"Ohh" he laughed "He likes you!" He said

"Ohh shut up." I laughed

He gave me a serious look

"Oh you're not joking.." I said

"I'm not." He said

"But he doesn't even know me that well! How's that even possible?" I asked

"You're pretending to be my girlfriend. And you find the fact that Brian likes you weird?" He said

I nodded "You're right" I said

"Fred we need you here!" Roger said

"Okay be right there in a second" Freddie said and looked at me "We'll be done with it soon and then we'll all go to dinner, okay?" He said

I nodded and I opened the magazine and kept reading. I came across a headline with the band's name on it. I read the article and while it was full of compliments about them and their music there was a specific sentence that triggered me. It was a sentence full of hate towards Freddie and his sexuality.

"How ignorant can people be?" I yelled as I teared the page off, formed it into a ball and threw it in the trash can

"Is everything okay Diane?" John asked

"Yeah. I just read a stupid article." I said as I placed the magazine on the table

Brian reached his hand into the trash can and pulled the paper I previously threw away and read it and got visibly angry. He sighed as he threw it back in the can.

My outburst was enough to draw everyone's attention on me and I felt uncomfortable. I grabbed my purse and I walked at the door where I was stopped by Freddie.

"Where are you going?" He asked

"I just remembered that I have to go to college and tell them that I'll stop my studies before I start" I lied

"Don't you want to wait until we're done and let us drive you there?" He asked

"That's okay. But I should go now.. I'll meet you guys later?" I asked

"Sure" He said and he smiled "Let me at least walk you to the entrance." He said and opened the door for me and we walked out.

*Brian's Pov*

"Do you think something is happening between them?" Roger asked

"No way! He would tell us." John said

"Maybe he doesn't want to tell us yet." Roger said

"Nothing is happening between them! Can we just get back to work? The album is not going to finish itself!" I raised my voice

"Geez Brian.. are you jealous?" Roger asked

"Oh shut up! Why would I be jealous? I don't even know her that well. And if Freddie decides to date her then that's fine.." I said trying to hide my disappointment

"The paparazzi are still out there. Are you sure you don't want to wait?" Freddie asked
