Redundancy:

• the inclusion of extra components that are not strictly necessary to functioning, in case of failure in other components...

In a computer, this means that there's a backup plan.
Some extra wires,
A chip.
Pieces of metal,
glass, and
plastic.

Whatever is needed for the system to continue working despite the broken pieces inside.

People are not always built with redundancy.

At some point,
At some time,

When it's least expected.

The entrails fall apart,
One by one things shut down.

The heart doctor blames the kidneys, kidneys blame the brain, brain blames the heart.
Every once in awhile a new innermost part is thrown in; spleen, colon, gallbladder.

Each new piece more unlikely than the first.

And at that point,
whatever safety net:
money,
work,
family,
possessions.

They all dissapear.

•There is no backup plan•

The heart can't work without the brain, the brain without the heart.

Everything else coming into play one after the other;
piece by piece.
falling apart slowly from the
inside
out.

The cracking of the
Metal,
glass,
and
plastic.

Some computers aren't built with redundancy.

Sometimes things can't keep working no matter how hard the wheels turn;

No matter how hard you hit the keyboard praying for it to come back on;

Some things just don't come back from the dead.

Like.

You.
