Forest At Night

I walk in the forest
The crickets chirp all around me
The grass tickles my feet
My shoes abandoned at home
The air soothes me
The wind whispers in my ear
The moon shines
Creating a path
It leads me
So I am not lost
But when I decide to call it a night
I find that I am, in fact, lost
They have trapped me with the trees
A birds song, louder than my screams
It's time for them to come out
The stars shall hide the evidence
The moon shines in glee
The night blinds you in the dark
And when the sun rises in the morning
I am no longer there
