I Walk Along

I walk along the dimly lit streets
The whole neighbourhood fast asleep

My breathing is hushed
And so are my footsteps
My shadow appears under the light
The crickets chirp freely in the night
The animals come to say hello
And watch me as I come and go
I warm my hands in my hoodie pocket
As the wind sweeps me off my feet
The stars shine brightly in the sky
The moon smiles at me in the dead of the night
The silent around me carry me home
When I open my eyes I am in my room
I tuck myself back into my bed
And on my pillow I rest my head
I dream of the moon and the stars and the sky
But on my bed is where I lie
I walk among the dimly lit streets
And then I find myself sound asleep
