"No, stop it. Quit it! HEY! Leave me alone, you little demons! Aaaggghhh!" Snotlout yelled.

Snotlout and Astrid were trying to control the Terrible Terrors who tore up Mildew's garden in the training academy.

"Astrid! HELP! The won't LEVE me alone!" He yelled. The Terrors were biting and crawling all over him.

Astrid laughed. "You know, I think you got this one. I'll just let you handle this."

Fishlegs rode in on Meatlug.

"Hey, Fishlegs." Astrid turned around. "What's new?"

"FISHLEGS!" Snotlout shouted. He was crawling to his feet. "They hurt! Help!"

Astrid shook her head and mouthed "don't" to Fishlegs, who nodded and ignored Snotlout's pain.

"Anyway, Hiccup's gone." Fishlegs said.

"What? Gone?" Astrid said.

"Hiccup's gone?" A voice said.

Astrid and Fishlegs looked around.

"Sh! Idiot! You'll blow our cover!" Someone said.

"I couldn't hear him. This bucket is almost soundproof."

"Shut up! I should have come without you!"

"Wait why are we doing this again?"

"We wanna see what goes on when we aren't here! Now be quiet!"

Astrid walked over to two large buckets sitting together on the ground.

"Ruffnut? Tuffnut?" She said.

"Uh, no."

"Yeah, we don't know who these "Ruffnut" and "Tuffnut" characters are. But they sound extremely smart. Even smarter than you!"

Astrid kicked the bucket to her left.

"OW!"

"Get out here." She said.

Tuffnut and Ruffnut climbed out from under the buckets.

"Okay, you got us. Now what?" Tuffnut said.

"What were you even doing in there?!" Fishlegs said.

"We wanted to see if any action happened without us." Tuffnut responded.

"And we were bored." Ruffnut corrected.

"Yeah, mostly bored."

"Anyway," Astrid turned back to Fishlegs. "What happened to Hiccup?"

"Oh yeah! Is it true? Hiccup's gone?" Tuffnut said.

"Is he dead?" Ruffnut climbed on Tuffnut's head.

"Is there a corpse?" He pushed her off.

"They'll be one in a minute." Ruffnut punched Tuffnut.

"Yeah, but it won't be mine!" He punched her back.

They had a small punching fit.

"Knock it off!" Astrid yelled. "Fishlegs, WHAT HAPPENED?!"

"Okay! Toothless saw a beam of light and it turned into the Flightmare's beam-" Fishlegs was cut off.

"The Flightmare?!" Astrid said.

"What?" Snotlout said from beneath the Terrible Terrors. "OW OW OW OW OW! STOP!"

"Flightmare, cool." Ruffnut said. "He going to face it?"

"Did he die in action?" Tuffnut said. They turned to each other.

"I bet it swallowed him whole."

"I bet it killed him and dropped him back in the village."

"Awesome. Then, like, the people would scatter."

"Awesome!" They high-fived.

"I bet it only took minute."

"Probably warming up its power until it destroys all of Berk."

"That would be awesome."

"I can't wait till it destroys us! In like a fiery inferno!"

"Of death."

"Even better!"

"KNOCK IT OFF!" Astrid bashed their heads together.

"Awesome," Ruffnut said dazed. Then they both collapsed.

"Continue." Astrid said.

"Well he went to face it." Fishlegs said.

"Alone?!" She yelled. "Well, I'm going." She stormed toward the gate.

"No no no!" Fishlegs held her. "He wanted you to run Berk while he's gone."

"Really?" She said.

"Well, co-run. With me!" He smiled.

"Oh," she rolled her eyes.

"We can do this together!" He said.

The twins came to.

"What about us?" Ruffnut said.

"Did he leave us in charge too?" Tuffnut said.

"Oh yeah, let's burn down the village!"

"No, let's rip up Mildew's garden first!"

"Then burn his house down."

"Haha, yeah." They bumped heads.

"He didn't leave either of you in charge." Fishlegs said.

They shrugged. "We're still going to rip up his lawn and burn his house down." Tuffnut said.

"Yeah, let's go." They ran out the gate.

Fishlegs and Astrid looked at each other.

"We might want to stop them." He said.

"Yeah." They ran after them.

"Hello? Anyone? Please!" Snotlout said. "Get OFF!" He pushed them off and got up. He brushed himself off.

Snotlout was the only one who heard it.

It was ear-piercing. It was close. Too close.

But he didn't believe it. It couldn't have been true. He knew the last time he heard that roar. It was the day he would never forget.

It was the roar of a Bewilderbeast.
