Chapter 19

Flashbacks

July, 2017.

The sun was hot on the first month of summer in Korea. The classes had ended and the students were already on their own planned vacation, enjoying the days where they didn't have to study. Kara knocked on your door in series before she barge in fully dressed and all dolled up.

She held a lunch box in her hand as she stood at the center of your room that looks like a disaster. Jackets, pizza box and socks were scattered on the floor while your tangled up with your blanket that's almost kissing the floor.

Your eyes flutter open, heavy as you remember what time you went to bed last night or maybe earlier this morning after watching videos of your favorite boy group.

"Get up, Mom wants us to deliver Dad's lunch at his office." She said as she smile at you, slightly pulling the blanket away from you.

Your face crumpled as you roll over your bed, facing your back at her. "Go away." You groan as you wave her away.

She chuckled and shook her head. "Alright, sleepy head. Eat some decent meal okay? Not just pizza." She said before she head out of your room and you continue your sleep and snoring.

Kara had to take the subway to get to her father's law firm office. She waited at the lobby while the receptionist contacted your father. She held the lunchbox tightly when she noticed a group of men laughing at a distance.

They were wearing black suits and carrying black suitcase, one hand occupied with a cup of coffee. Kara figured they were lawyers of this law firm, her dad's colleague. In the middle of the men in black suits, stood a man with white suit, he seemed older than the others. He wasn't holding a suitcase nor a coffee cup, he was just there talking to them with a graceful smile on his face.

He screams of respect but not the way lawyers do. Kara tilted her head, he was actually kind of familiar to her. Maybe she saw him on a flyer or something.

While trying to remember where she had seen him, her gaze went to a figure not too far away from that group. There stood a boy, probably around her age, with his arms crossed against his chest and leaning on the wall. He was playing with a car keys in his hand as his face displayed boredom at this white tiled room.

His jet black hair stood out the most, his height was very attractive and his broad shoulders looked more good on the white and blue striped long sleeves button up that he wore. She blushed when she saw his eyes caught her.

She wished for you to be there so she could share her thoughts about this guy. So that both of you could slap each other's arms as you both admire his majestic face.

"Actually, Governor, the lawyers that are handling that case are working hard to solve it." Kara heard one of the men in suit said, his smile wide as he look at the man in the middle.

Kara's eyes widen when she realized what he said and where he was looking at. She knew he was familiar! He was the governor! And who is the boy near them? He is too young to be here.

"I'm glad you are all working hard to prove him guilty and to indict him. He caused enough death to this town." The governor said patting the arm of the guy near him.

"Ms. Kara? Your father is waiting for you at his office now." The receptionist called that made Kara jump.

She stood up to her feet and turned to the receptionist. Kara gave her thanks to the receptionist and turned to the elevator but she caught the boy gazing at her one last time before the elevator closes.
