A snake bite (Tom riddle x reader)

Chapter 7- Something in store

I slip behind the bare stone wall, hugging it tightly. I hated this, being brought to the point of running and hiding. Ever since I made that stupid deal with Riddle people have been around me everywhere I go. I've even had some Slytherin girls pester me about him during breakfast. If they're not his fangirls, they are people who admire him. They either think they can use me to get to Riddle, or believe if they please me he will be happy with them aswell.

This morning I started yelling at one of them for giving me a teddy bear. They simply told me that it was Tom who was ordering them to give me such gifts. I've received countless from his followers. I couldnt stand it anymore, I couldnt believe it! They had brought me to the point of hiding. Hiding! I made my way back to the Slytherin house, I've already checked the dinner table and the library for Tom, but with no luck.

Tired, I walk into the common room and sit down on the couch, sighing. "You look tired." My head snaps up to the couch across from me, I almost smiled at the sight. Finally I had found the snake. "I've been looking for you." I mutter, what I thought was an obvious annoyed laced with my words. He lifts an eyebrow, intrigued. He places a bookmark into the pages, closing it and gently placing it down next to him. He re-crosses his legs. "Oh?"

"These gifts..." I start, placing a hand onto my temple. I open my mouth to continue but Tom leans in and cuts me off. "You like them right? Its customary for a 'boyfriend' to get his 'girlfriend' gifts no?" He stands up and walks over to me, crouching down to my eye level. A smirk creeps onto his face. "You liked them that much? I guess you could-"

"No." I stop his little rant. "What did you say?" I gulp. "I said I did not like them. They are ridi-"

"You know, I went out of my way for those? I have things to do that are much more important then getting gifts, you should be more appreciative." I stand up from my seat, as does he. There may have only been a few students in the room with us, but by now there was no one else. "I didnt even want them in the first place!"I poke at his chest. "I didnt even want to be your girlfriend!" He looks suprised, and backs up a little.

Wiping his face to a blank again he sighs. "You're right... how about tonight, we go out to the forest? I'll have someone set up something for us. Would that be better then some pretty gifts?" I cross my arms, and start to tap my foot against the tile ground. I take my time thinking it over, obviously I took too much time. Tom had put a hand on my shoulder and brought his other hand to my chin to lift my head and make my eyes meet his. "It may not seem like it but I really do want to try to have something with you. You are the only person I have met in general that has not only intrigued me, but also may be as strong as me when I started at this school."

His eyes seem honest but theres a hint of something else. Still thinking, and a little shocked by his sudden calmness I hadn't said a word. "I-... Fine." I agree to his date, I might aswell... it couldnt do any harm.

We agreed to meet at midnight, but when I reached the border of the forest there was no sign of anybody. Twigs snap underneath my feet as a take rather aggressive steps. I keep looking around. He couldnt have gone that far into the woods, if he did, he would know there was no real way of me finding him. I come to an abrupt stop, a light- small like a firefly- had shown up in front of me, and had started to hover.

I reach out to grab it but it quickly flies back and then returns to its position once before. Soon, more start to appear, creating a path to what I assume is our picnic spot. The path winds through trees, taking me turn at almost every step. I continue until the lights start to fade and an area of trees is clearly illuminated. The let my hand drag along the rough surface of the dark wooded tree that was the only object blocking my view.
