She was watching the snow fall outside her bay window holding a hot cup of tea. The tea filled in the  cracks in her heart, that's what she said when she drank tea anyway. It was way too early to be awake but she couldn't sleep anymore and she enjoyed the view from this window. From here she could see the snow falling on the mountain behind her house. Amelia loved living in Utah, she never ever thought she would but now she could never leave. She wanted to stay here in this moment but work was calling and she knew that it wouldn't wait. Today was they day and she couldn't be more excited. She was flying to be on set of the series for her first book. It was an emotional day for her. She loved her work but it was taxing and being away from her kids was always hard. Two years ago Amelia became a widow and since then she had been lost in an endlessness  grief. Derek had been the love of her life, he had made her into who she was today. Everything that she had accomplished was because of him and his encouragement of her dreams. As she sat in the quiet she could hear the sounds throughout the house. The hum of the furnace, the snoring from the boys rooms was loud and could not be missed. She could also hear the barefoot steps of one teenage girl that was trying to sneak up on her. "BOO!" Amelia feigned fear and the disappointment was evident on her daughters face. "seriously woman do you even get scared" She said as she sat down next to her and asked to be covered with the same blanket. "Of course not, that's why we have guns" her daughter chuckled. "like a true Texan" they laughed. Amelia was born and raised in the lone star state but her first husband had brought her to Utah, less than a year after moving their marriage fell apart. So with two kids, in tow she went to work on rebuilding her life and it was all a mess. She fell flat on her face so many times and made so many bad choices. Years later after many bad choices and many failed relationships she met Derek.  They met and fell in love. Soon the blended family welcomed one more child, Silas. So the now family of five was happy as could be. Financially things could be better but as time passed things improved. Amelia and Derek both worked on their novel with hopes of getting it published one day Seven years later their world shattered, when Derek died everything stopped. Nothing was the same and Amelia was lost without him he was her anchor and all the anger and sadness that he had kept away for years flooded over her in and endless sea of grief. It was Monica  that saved her. She and her brother  kept the household going and gave her time to grieve her loss. Something no teenager should ever have to do.  With time the fog cleared and she started to live again. Now she was not quite alive but still living. "Mom, are you worried about being gone for the filming? Because I told you Rhys and I can handle everything, plus we have Anna too" she smiled even now she was trying to take care of her "No Hun, I am actually not worried about it, I am sad because I hate leaving you guys but I am not worried at all. I know you guys have it all handled and like you said you have Anna and I know she can handle  Silas just fine. But promise me you will hang out with your friends and have fun while I am working. I don't want you to obsess about taking care of your  little brother That's why we have a nanny." "I know mom, I will." She smiled as the sun came over the mountains she knew that it was time to get the say started and to get her family back home. This trip had been a great getaway before the realness of life and winter took over the small Utah border town but now it was time to go back to her home in the city to face what was to come on set.

After a two hour car ride from the lake house into town Amelia was worn out but there was still so much to do. as she pulled her SUV into the garage of her house a small blonde woman came out of the door leading into her home on the phone. "finally! I thought you weren't going to make it!"  Amelia rolled her eye at the woman dramatics. "seriously when have I ever not made it Trace." Tracy was Amelia's best friend, publicist and personal assistant. She had known Tracy for years and the women were inseparable. "well I packed for you, thank you for the list. all you need is your carry on and then we can get on the road" Tracy went on as she unbuckled Silas and let him get out of the car "Aunt Tracy you are so organized where would mom be without you." Rhys said jokingly as he got out of the driver side of the truck. "she would be a mess and you guys would be living in a box somewhere." Amelia tolled her eyes which was her go to reaction for Tracy's dramatics. "Ha Ha, give me some credit I know what I am doing most of the time." Tracy smiled at her. "You are so lost in your art that you have no clue what's going on, but then again that's what makes the money so I am not complaining. After all, you are the boss." Amelia laughed in response. They all entered the house and gathered in the kitchen for goodbyes. Amelia quickly went and packed a carry on that consisted of her iPad, documents, identification and other things she would need for the trip. She knew this would be a quick turnaround but she couldn't help stay one more night at the lake house. She ran back down the stairs and gave her kids hugs and kisses. Pausing only to give the nanny some instructions and making Silas promise to behave she jumped into her jeep to make the ride to the airport. Now normally she would have to go to salt lake city to fly but part of the contract for selling the rights to her book was that she would be flown privately out of her small Utah town. Logan already had a small airport so it was not an issue. "Are you ready for this?" Tracy said to her really knowing that her friend was. "yeah of course" Tracy was always with her and she was a good sport to come and be on set with her. The sale of the rights of her book to Netflix included her creative genius. The books had been widely popular but Netflix wanted her on set to be creative director and to take her work to the next level. The first two books had already been published and very successful with book three to follow this year.  There was so much about the series that she had not been able to fit into the books and after a few meetings they knew she needed to be included. "are you ready to be star struck" Amelia laughed. She had not met any of the cast. She was adamant about this. She did have a small opinion about who they cast but she really wanted that part to be left to the professionals. The director and the producers had a special interest in the movie as they were huge fans of the books so she let them make the decision about the cast and they hit it on head. So this was her first time officially meeting the cast. they offered to do a first meet with just the cast but she really wanted anonymity so she would just go on set day one like everyone else. Like many other authors out there Amelia used a pseudo name, not really for privacy as her picture was on the back cover but for the meaning. Her pseudo name was a mix of hers and her late husband's name and it meant a lot to her to keep it. "you know I am just excited to get started, I know it's going to be a big project and I am happy to be working again." Tracy smiled and nodded. "You never know you could add a celebrity notch to your belt." Amelia laughed "Yeah, right" They arrived at the airport and were quickly helped to the plane. Amelia had never been on a private plane she knew that this was a new level in her professional life. She worked hard to get here and she loved her job. After writing the first two books in her series she went into screen writing. it was not something she was sure she would be good at but after she sold her first script she knew this would always be something she wanted to do. Her creative process empowered her to do more, she started to gather an online following after she revealed herself on social media under her pseudo name. from there her social media became a platform for empowering woman. She was a strong female and wanted other woman to feel the same. She embraced her sexuality and talked about that publicly. Embracing the new season of her life as a single mother and widow. Her story as anything but typical. She failed so many times and made some pretty sketchy choices but she owned those choices . After Derek died she changed, she grieved him and that changed her. But after some time she knew that she needed companionship. Never long term prospects but always friends with added benefits. She never felt ashamed and shared that with others she felt that if she were a man no one would ever question her decisions and would just see her promiscuity as normal. But because she was a woman AND a mother that was not allowed and she refused to stand down on that. "I seriously doubt that Trace, I mean come on I am not celebrity click bait"  Tracey laughed as they boarded the plane and took their seats. "You really don't see yourself at all... it's not always about looks of being famous, you have always exuded confidence and sexuality, it's all natural to you. You may not think your hot in the celebrity, movie star way, but girl you are sexy." Amelia rolled her eyes. "ok trace, I am going to take a short nap and dream of what you say" It was her best friends turn to roll her eyes. "you're so blind woman" was the last thing Amelia heard before drifting off for a short nap.
