Chapter 20 - First Day

"Hey Andy, Dani," Luis said as we walked into his office at the top floor. I smiled at him as a lady and a man came into his office.

"Girls, you will be following them and they will tell you what to do. Andy, follow Anna and Dani follow Tyler," Luis said and I nodded. I waved to Luis and Andrea before following Tyler.

"Hello, I'm Tyler. Luis assigned me to teach you what needs to be done," he said and I nodded. Am I supposed to introduce myself too?

I smiled at him and said, "I'm Daniella."

He nodded and smiled at me before showing me to where I would be working. I was surprised that I would be having my own tiny office. I had assumed that it would be like The Office but this was cool.  I had a nice view behind me and there was a glass desk with a few stationery holders on it filled up pens. Really cool. I tried my best not to show that I was overly excited lest I would somehow get fired. Tyler gave me a smile before walking towards the door of my office. Really majorly cool.

"Luis said that you're capable, so I believe you'll be fine. If you need any help, my office is next to yours" Tyler said with a smile and left me alone. Well, I hope I don't mess things up and get fired on my first day.

The rest of the day went by without any disturbance. I was comfortable working with numbers and figures. It was something that I was good at and something that I enjoyed doing.

"Dani?" I heard someone say and I looked up and saw Luis at the door. I smiled at him.

"How are you holding up for your first day?" He asked.

"It's okay. You taught me this in university and this is really cool, thank you," I told him and he smiled at me. He gestured for a hug and I stood up and walked towards him.

"Thank you. If it weren't for you and Andy, I have no idea what I would be doing now," I said once we stood back from the hug.

"You're welcome, you helped Andrea by being a friend," he told me and I smiled.

"I have a meeting to go to but you're welcome and I believe that you won't let me down," Luis said and with a wave, he left.

I went back to my work, slowly getting the hang of how things work. I had known how everything worked and what I was supposed to do but actually doing it was a whole different thing. I was afraid that I would mess things up or that I would miss something out.

At around 12:30pm, Andrea came to my office with a huge smile on her face.

"Come on, hermosa, it's time for lunch."

I turned off my laptop as she walked into it and sat on the chair opposite mine. She spun around on the chair before holding her hand out. I took it and we left the office together.

"How was your day so far?" I asked her and she turned to look at me with a smile.

"Mine is really cool. I am working with a team of people so I don't have my own office like you do but I really like it," she said. "How was yours?"

"Mine was normal. I didn't expect to have my own tiny office," I told her.

"We're adults now," she said and I nodded. Even though we were 22 this year and was considered an adult last year, we were now adult-adults. We had a full-time job.

Our phone beeped simultaneously and I already knew it was from the boys.

From Richard:
hey guys, it's lunch time for you now, right?
