Chapter 47 - Arcade

“You could be my teacher! You could be my boss!” Andrea and I sang along to the TV. We were currently waiting for the boys’ text so that we could meet them downstairs. While waiting, we had decided to have a mini karaoke session. 

Andrea laughed as she took her phone out and filmed us singing terribly. We were both horrible singers but that did not stop us from having these mini karaoke sessions. She laughed even harder when I used my phone as a microphone and pointed to the camera. After keeping a straight face for a few seconds, I cracked and laughed too. 

“I think I’m about to lose my voice,” I said through laughter as I walked to the kitchen to grab a cup of water. When I returned, Andrea was still singing. She took the remote control and used it as a microphone. She stood on the couch and walked on it as if it was a stage. I took my phone and recorded her, laughing before posting it on my instagram story and tagging her. 

She turned to me and bowed exaggeratedly. “Thank you, thank you for coming to my concert,” she said into the remote control, her arms opened. We continued this for about half an hour before Andrea’s phone beeped. 

“They’re downstairs,” she said and I nodded. We put on our shoes before walking out of the door. 

“Hola!” Andrea exclaimed as we walked out of the building.

“Hey,” Christopher said with a smile on his face, similar to the one I had. He wrapped his arms around my waist. 

“Hey,” I replied as I wrapped my arms around his torso before letting go. After the other boys gave me hugs, Christopher held his hand out to me and I took it. Christopher, Zabdiel and I walked at the back while Andrea, Erick, Joel and Richard walked in front of us. 

“What have you guys been doing?” I asked Christopher and Zabdiel. 

“We’ve been in the studio, writing and recording,” Zabdiel replied, looking at me over Christopher. 

“What about you?” Christopher asked. 

“Nothing much, you know, the usual,” I told them. The three of us continued walking and talking towards the arcade that was nearby. Andrea was, as usual, laughing as she walked. Richard turned to say something to her and she turned around with a cheeky smile. 

‘What?’ 

She slowed down and walked beside me, linking her arm with mine. 

“Did Christopher say that he wanted to make up to you or make out with you?” she whispered, making sure that no one but us heard it. I gasped as she laughed. 

This girl, I- 

Shaking my head, I unlinked my arm from hers to pinch her butt. She jumped with a small shriek, making me laugh. 

“Dios mami!” she exclaimed and turned to give me a glare. Her face was serious but her eyes were shining with amusement. With a wink, she walked faster to catch up with the other boys. 

“Not a word.” I said, a little louder so that she could hear me. She turned around, sticking her tongue out at me. I shook my head with an amused smile. I turned my attention back to Christopher and Zabdiel to see that Christopher was already looking at me with a smile. My cheeks heated up a little while I looked in front, turning my head a little so that my hair would fall forward and cover my face. 

We soon reached the arcade and before we could even walk in, we could already hear the loud music from inside. 

“Do you think there will be a height requirement for some of the games?” Erick asked, looking directly at Andrea. Everyone except Andrea laughed. 

“Do you think there will be an age requirement for any of the games?” she shot back with a grin on her face, proud of her comeback. Erick’s mouth dropped open and Andrea laughed. She turned to open the door and walked in. The rest of us walked in but Erick was still standing there. 

“Ella, ella,” he started but Christopher laughed, pulling him with the hand that wasn’t holding mine. 

“Vamos,” he said, laughing. When we got in, Erick walked in Joel’s direction, leaving Christopher and me alone. 

“Where do you want to go first?” he asked. 

“There,” I told him, pointing in the direction of the zombie games with some guns and walking towards there. With a chuckle, he followed me. 

“Hey hey hey!” I exclaimed, laughing as Christopher distracted me by tugging on my gun. With one hand still on the gun and my eyes still on the screen, I reached out and messed with his. I tugged on his gun, laughing when he missed. 

“Nila!” he exclaimed with a laugh. We continued tugging on each other’s gun, not letting it go. 

“Oh my god Christopher!” I exclaimed, jumping up and laughing. “That’s cheating!”

He had let go of my gun but was tickling me, distracting me. I swatted his hand away, still laughing. I stopped reaching for his gun and poked his side instead. We continued playing this way, distracting each other. 

Because Christopher didn’t have enough points in the previous level, he didn’t advance to the next level.

“You distracted me!” Christopher exclaimed, pouting. 

“You started it! You distracted me too! You’re very distracting!” 

“I’m distracting?” he asked and I could hear the smirk in the voice. I opened my mouth to say something but couldn’t think of anything to say. I turned to give him a glance and turned back to the screen, preparing to start the next level. He laughed and moved to stand closer to me. 

I heard the familiar sound of the camera shutter going off and I turned briefly to see Christopher with his phone out. 

“Smile Nila,” he said and without me even forcing it, my lips turned up in a smile as I faced the screen and started the game. 

In the next round, I was also eliminated. I turned to see him watching me with a smile on his face. He picked up the gun that was resting on the holder and pointed it at me. 

“Pew pew.”

Laughing, I took out my phone and took a picture of him. He started to make different poses and I laughed and continued taking pictures of him. Once we were done, he put the gun down. 

“Vamos,” he said, holding his hand out. With a smile, I took it and we walked in the direction of our friends.
