Chapter 52 - Distraction

"Oh my god," I mumbled as I woke up. I wasn't in bed and I had fallen asleep in Christopher's arms. I had my head in the crook of his neck and my arms were wrapped tightly around his torso. He had one arm around me while the other had his phone.

"Good morning, Nila," he said, keeping away his phone. He wrapped both arms around me before resting his head on mine.

"Good morning," I mumbled, lifting my head from his neck.

"Were you awake for long?" I asked him and he shook his head.

"No, I woke up about twenty minutes ago but I didn't want to wake you up," he replied. We stood up and walked towards my bathroom. I was still yawning the entire way to my room but I was aware of Christopher.

I passed him a spare toothbrush and when we were done, we walked to the kitchen to find Andrea typing furiously on her phone.

"Hey good morning," Christopher and I said at the same time. I turned to look at him and he winked at me, causing me to roll my eyes at him with a smile.

"Hmm, good morning," she said with a tiny smirk on her face. She turned to look at me. I immediately knew why. She had seen us on the sofa together.

"Not a word," I told her, walking past her to make myself a cup of tea.

"Coffee right?" I asked Christopher and he nodded.

"I'm making pancakes, you guys want any?" I asked them. Christopher nodded while Andrea shook her head. She took a yoghurt out from the fridge before walking out of the kitchen.

"I'll see you guys later," she said.

"Glasses," I called out.

"Glasses, gracias hermosa, te quiero," she said as she walked in to take her glasses before heading out again.

Te quiero.

Oh my god. Yesterday when Christopher and I were talking. I thought about these two words.

Oh my god.

I moved around the kitchen to take out the stuff to make the pancakes. Once I had everything, I went to the counter to start on the pancakes. Just a while later, I felt Christopher behind me with his hands on my waist.

My cheeks heated up as I remembered what I had realised just a few moments ago. Oh my god. My cheeks heated up even more when he kissed my cheek a few times. The milk slipped from my hands and I fumbled, trying to catch it.

"Nila you okay?" Christopher asked. I nodded, biting my lips. I cleaned the mess up and continued with what I was doing.

"Chocolate chips?" I asked him.

"Duh," he said sassily and I laughed, my stiffness from before fading away slightly. After telling him where the chocolate chips were, he went to take it from the pantry. I left out a breath.

Calm down, Dani. don't be ridiculous and overthink everything. Te quiero might not have referred to that te quiero. It's probably the same as when you tell Andrea te quiero. You don't make a big deal out of it. Don't start now.

When Christopher returned, he walked over to me and had his arms around my waist, hugging me from behind. I poured out some chocolate chips before putting it aside.

"Nila."

"Yes?"

"That's not enough chocolate chips," he said, reaching to take the packet. Once he took it, he poured almost the entire thing out.
