"C'mon guys. Tonight is gonna be so much fun! Half priced Wednesdays." Kevin shouted, walking around the apartment.

"Isn't it already half priced for us?" Jake asked, side-eyeing Kevin.

"Well I'll make it half-half price!" Kevin exclaimed. He then sighed at our expressions. "Look, Mike's not partying tonight. Something about 'even though he's dead his liver doesn't have to suffer for it'. All I know is that I'm gonna be all alone in the VIP section and I want some company."

"Can't get yourself a date?" Colby smirked.

Kevin jeered. "Not everyone's lucky enough to have a beautiful girl stalk you to where you live."

I glared at Kevin. "Hey!"

"Sorry Jade. But guys... I need you there. Please." Kevin begged, pouting.

Kevin's phone beeped suddenly. He pulled it out and stared down at the screen.

Sam glanced at all of us, shrugging. "I mean I guess we can go-"

Kevin interjected. "Oh no. Oh no. Fuck. Tonight's cancelled."

"What why? What's wrong?" Jake questioned.

"One word: Caleb." Kevin whispered in disgust.

"Oh fuck!" Colby hissed.

Sam groaned. "Not him again."

"Seriously, fuck him." Jake sneered.

I laughed at their reactions. "I'm sorry but who's Caleb?"

"He's a vampire. A very young vampire. And he knows about us. About XPLR." Sam stated.

"How'd he find out?" I inquired.

"He caught us killing a vamp, and since has held it against us." Sam replied.

"Why don't you just kill him?" I mumbled.

"He kisses the asses of all the elders. If he went missing, they would know something's up. So, he lives." Jake informed.

"Sadly." Colby deadpanned.

Sam chuckled. "The good thing is because he is so young in the vampire world, his powers don't really affect humans. So even if he tried to do anything, nothing would happen."

"What's his power?" I requested.

"Don't know. Don't care. I'm out." Colby smirked again, walking towards the door. "How do you think Vampiro is doing?"

"Better without me." I joked.

He turned back for a moment before leaving, smiling. "Doubt it."

Then in a flash, he disappeared; most likely running at vampire speed out of the building.

Kevin turned to Sam, Jake, and I, his arms opened wide. "My three amigos?"

How bad can Caleb really be?

~ \ / \ / ~

They weren't wrong about Caleb.

Now, nothing about Caleb was inherently bad, but nothing about him was good either. He had a baby-face; looked too young to be drinking or in a club in the first place. But since he was a vampire and there was no age-restriction for vamps, youngins could drink.

He bragged about being friends with the elders because apparently one of them turned him. He never mentioned who, just that they were one of the most powerful. He also talked about how he has a whole Instagram following because he was an influencer.
