I'd be the world's biggest liar if I said the dress Maddie handed me wasn't beautiful

I'd be the world's biggest liar if I said the dress Maddie handed me wasn't beautiful. It was divine. It was skin colored and covered with silver details from top to bottom, the neckline was lower than what I'd pick out for myself but it didn't look out of place. Nothing looked out of place, for the first time in a long time I felt beautiful.

"I love that you did your hair up in a ponytail," Maddie chimed from behind me and I smiled at her.

"Thank you," I replied, "And thank you for bringing the dress up."

"That's not a problem," Maddie was a naturally nervous girl I noticed, so for the last hour or so whilst she helped me get ready I made idle conversation with her so she would feel at ease.

"I didn't think a music festival would be so formal," I said, I was expecting a sun dress or a high end tank top with shorts, this reminded me of my wedding dress.

"Yeah, there's nothing festival-y about the Sienna music festival, it's a black tie event." Maddie replied and I scoffed.

"They didn't have to call it a festival then."

"I think they wanted to sound hip," Maddie added.

"Probably,"

"Are you ready?" Ash asked as she stepped into my room.

"I think so," I replied and turned around to show Ash my dress, "This is beautiful but isn't it a little extra?"

"Wait till you see the celebrities at the festival," Ash replied, "You'll look underdressed."

"Great," I muttered under my breath and Ash opened my suite's doors and we stepped out to the joint living area.

"I'm not gonna wait for Colson for an hour now," I announced and Ash promptly knocked on his door. After the second knock Colson opened up and stepped out looking like a movie star.

"You clean up nicely," Ash said and he smiled at her. I felt frozen to the spot, I couldn't move, I couldn't say anything, I couldn't take my eyes off of him. The same must've been true for him because after a minute Ash waved her hands around like a maniac.

"Earth to you two, you can ogle each other later," she said, "You're gonna be late."

I tore my eyes away from him and it was one of the hardest things I've had to do in a while.

In the car we didn't talk, Ash had left us to our own devices and apart from one bodyguard who wasn't Bobby, we were all on our own. It felt strange, being alone with him. I was so used to the entourage, all little buffers between me and him, all making sure things didn't get too real between us. But there was no one now, no distraction, no nothing, just him and the very strong smell of his cologne.

When we arrived he hopped out first and held the door open for me, I slid out and straightened my dress out. He offered me a hand and after looking at it for a moment, I took it. We had to look like we were in love and I was going to put on the performance of a lifetime, after all, we only had a few more performances left and then I'll be on my way and he'll be on his.
