Chapter five: Fishy

The loud ring of my alarm was the first thing that woke me up this morning.

The first thing I did after I finished up in the bathroom, was check to see if Mason was up, by peeking out of the small gap between the two halves of the draped curtains—from what I could see, it looked like he had just woken up, because he was still in bed scrolling through his phone.

What a hypocrite I was—just yesterday I was accusing him of stalking me, yet here I am doing the exact same thing.

I changed into the same tank top from yesterday, but pulled my brothers old maroon hoodie over it. There was a weird stain on the tank top, and I couldn't tell what is was. I put on grey joggers, and my over-worn pair of black and white vans.

The Calvin Klein glasses that were on my desk, were also part of today's outfit. My eyesight was getting slightly worse, and I would refuse to put them on. Mainly because I looked like Scooby-Doo with glasses when I wore them.

I slung my jet black Nike bag on my shoulder, and walked out of my bedroom.

"Morning, sunshine" Aunt em greeted when I walked into the kitchen.

I smiled, and grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl. "Hey."

Aidan and Selena were gobbling up some cereal from their bowls, and Aunt Em was sat on the kitchen island, reading today's newspaper article.

My brother looked up at me, and nearly chocked on his breakfast. "Holy shit-"

"Language" Aunt em corrected.

When Aunt En wasn't looking, I gave him the finger. I was used to him laughing at me when I went to school with no makeup and my glasses on. I knew I looked bad, but I could have looked worse. That was one way to make myself feel better.

"Piss off" I cursed at him, sitting down on one of the chairs surrounding the island. "You're lucky I don't have the energy, to grab that little neck of yours and just-".

I held both my hands up, curling them a fraction and began to do a chocking motion.

"Too graphic, Sofia!" Selena screeched, and put her hands over her eyes dramatically.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh please, don't act like you haven't heard or said worse." Selena liked to act like she was some kind of angel sent from heaven or something of the sort, when in real life she was the complete incarnation of Satan. Just like myself...I should really start spending less time with Selena.

Ten minutes later everyone was finished and all packed up to go.

I grabbed the keys to my car and walked out the front door, with Aidan, Selena and Aunt Em behind me.

Aidan always drove in my car, because we both attended the same school, meanwhile Selena rode with Aunt Em.

"Fasten your seatbelt, boy" I ordered , once we got inside the freezing car. I started up the engine, and turned on the AC.

Aidan had this weird habit of never putting on his seatbelt when he entered a vehicle, unless someone told him to. It was like he thought he was made out of steel or something. One of these days he would go flying into the road, and me just being usual Sofia, would drive right past his body. Okay, not literally, but he should really be careful.
