I won't be posting more of this story but I do wanna get it off my chest

I'm gonna say something super controversial folks

I hate the way Shannon destroyed her best characters over the sake of validating a Sokeefe endgame

Fitz was a good character before his anger issues suddenly spiraled out of control from essentially nothing

After rereading a million times and being exposed to other literature for people my age now (I'm 17 y'all, wild innit) I simply can't put it differently than Fitz's character development was nothing but a sloppy fall from grace simply for the reason of making him look unhealthy for Sophie. A downfall could've been structured much better, I personally think it could've been done better. But it wasn't and my honest opinion is that a good character was ruined just for a ship

I'm incredibly satisfied that Keefe is a lot more than his implied infatuation with Sophie, he didn't suffer having his character arcs being put in motion all because of her. He acts for others, he is a people pleaser in his own right. He grew into a meaningful character. As opposed to Fitz becoming this asshole randomly.

Fitz always had these anger issues but the unprompted violence and alarming levels simply seem misplaced, unplanned, as if certain areas of development were cut out. Explanations for how he got so intense in a short period of time. Especially after being shown that Fitz was a voice of reason, how could a voice of reason not reason himself before he got that bad. Even after he felt guilty for taking things out on Sophie during Alden's coma, you'd expect him to show restraint as he has learned better. But he's become entirely unhinged for what seems to be minuscule reasons.

These are all my own personal opinions and I respect anyone who disagrees of course! I view it differently is all
I've grown out of KOTLC and it's unlikely I'll be continuing this book or finishing the book series itself, as I'm no longer a fan of Shannon's writing. It brought me many joys as a 12 year old and these 4 years have been easier thanks to Shannon.
I will be continuing to write my Kam (Keefe x Tam) fanfiction however
