Check out my new stories. 'Doting mother hen and his baby bun' and 'I wanna live a relaxing life'. Now let's get on with the drama.

Lucia Mooncrest POV
"I'll show you how to have fun. Let's explore the city." We walked to the outer wall made of cobblestone. It towered high in the sky, it was a magnificent wall. We sauntered through the front gate. The city was humangous, my eyes couldn't help but light up in delight.

I have never seen such a place, I only ever read places like these. People of all species crowded the plaza. Un the middle of the city stood a statue made of gold. It shined majestically in the sunlight, shoot rays of light across the stone path.

My eyes darted around looking at the various shops. I pulled Abanus's hand gently around the city. A small smile tug at his lips. Then I heard a grumble. Abanus blushed a deep shade of crimson. "I guess someone is hungry." As I said that my stomach also growled loudly. Now it was my turn to blush in embarrassment.

I drag him to a nearby cafe. I plop myself down on the oak chairs. I skimmed through the menu, already deciding what I want. I cock my head to Abanus who is staring at the menu, so long that it could drill a hole in it.

"You see anything you like?" I asked. "I-I'm not sure, I haven't ever eaten these things." He stutters cutely. A waiter comes to our table to take our orders. "I take the 2 lunch specials." The lady nods before sauntering back to the kitchen.

They soon come out with our steaming hot meal. A smile this at my lips the minute I smelled the food. It looked scrumptious, I hope it taste as good as it smells.

The minute I bite it my eyes sparkle in delight. The flavors burst in my mouth, I moaned in delight. I noticed Abanus was staring at me. I cough as a tint of pink dusted my cheeks. "Feel free to eat it, it's on me." Abanus looked quite hesitant and worried.

"I'm just not use to this treatment. I don't have any money on me at the moment. I don't know how to pay you back." He starts rubbing his arm nervously. I put my hand on his shaking palm. I look him with soft eyes and soothing voice. "I'm not looking for repayment. I only want you to experience the better things in life. Your also doing me a favour so stop worrying and relax. I'm not going to bite you." I soft chuckle escapes my lips.

I see him nod, happy with the response I continue eating my meal. We eat in silence mainly, starting small conversation occasionally.

I pay for the meal and head back out into the bustling city. Shops along the streets. Vendors were shouting prices. The air stenched of various food and smoke. Vibrant colourful fruits and vegetables that were swarmed by flies help make the city more lively then it already was. The blazing sun shone down on the already sweaty crowd. It was a battle to get to the destination you wanted without something bad happening.

I weaved my way through the crowd. When we arrived at the surprisingly deserted fountain I sat down on a nearby bench. Placing all of our shopping on the floor.

I wiped the sweat that formed on my forehead, we finally got out of that chaotic hell. Suddenly I remember to give a gift I bought to Abanus. I rummage through the bag until I finally spot it. A brown paper bag appears in front him. Abanus slowly takes it, unwrapping it cautiously. I scratch my cheek nervously, hoping he would like the gift.

The edge of his lips tug upwards, his eyes flashed. "Thank you for the plush and candy. My parents never gave me such gifts. They only gave me books." He laughs sadly as tears start to well up in his eyes. He tries to fight back the already falling tears. My heart softens, I pull him into a warm embrace. "Well I'm not your parents am I. Your only a child, try enjoying yourself more. Lighten up would you, not only for me but also yourself I hope you can find your happiness, even without me." I mumble the last part which he luckily doesn't hear. My shirt was soaked with tears and snot, I didn't really care though. My hand gently rub his back soothingly as I hum a song.

He cries silently in my embrace. Abanus soon calms down and vigorously rubs the hot tears that ran down his face. Tears stream down his face like a water fall, I dab his tears being careful not to hurt him. The sun started setting. The once bright sky faded into dark colours. The sky was painted with red, orange and yellow hues.

I lifted his fluffy hair and planted a kiss on his forehead. He seemed in no condition to walk so I piggyback him. Abanus did squirm at first but soon stopped. His breathing became steady and slow meaning he fell asleep.

I track towards a nearby hotel, I look around the city admiring the beauty. But there are so many poor people, one even grabbed my leg. I felt so bad for them, but that is how society works. It will always be unfair and unjust.

Booking a room cost 15 bronze coins. I gently lay the sleeping Abanus on the hard bed. I let out a long breath, pinching my eyebrows in the process. I can't laze around all day, maybe I could get another job as a butler or a nanny. A sad smile forms on my lips as I think about the twins. Without even realising it tears stream down my cheeks. This is so pathetic. why won't this guilt leave me. I didn't promise to stay by their side but I should have.

Will they hate me and come to kill me. I couldn't help but laugh at how stupid I was. This is like me betraying them isn't it. They need to learn to be independent but their only kids. I bury my hand in my face.

I tottered to the door washing my face with icy cold water. I slap my cheeks leaving a red imprint on them. I need to get myself together, crying won't do me any good. I took a deep breath calming myself.

A stroll should help me relax, I left a not behind just in case Abanus wakes up. The night air chills my skin. I bet I'm going to have to repent for all I've done. At this rate I'll abandon everyone close to me in this world I say jokingly to myself as I smile bitterly.

The dirt crunches under my feet. I see a pub nearby, a drink wouldn't hurt. I turn on my heel, heading towards the bar. As soon as I step in a blast of noise hits my ears.

I sit down at a free seat, the bar tender comes up to me asking what I want. "Just a beer please." He nods before concocting my drink.

A muscular male comes up to me, "Aren't you a cutie. Haven't seem anyone like you here recently." My nose scrunches up and I frown. What is up with these perverted people.

I ignore him sipping my beer. He grabs my wrist harshly, with a twisted smile on his face. "Don't ignore me dearie." I shrug my wrist away. Now I was getting annoyed. The male looked throughly pissed. "You should be glad I even noticed you." I roll my eyes, not like I asked hin to talk on me.

I slam my empty jug and pay for it before striding away. He grabs my arm squeezing it so tightly that I wince in pain. I summon my razor sharp fan and point it to his neck. "Don't touch me again." I say through gritted teeth with venom in my voice.

His nostrils flared and his teeth were bared. Nonetheless he let go of my arm. A smirk formed his face which made me uncomfortable. I glare at him one more time before leaving.

My gut tells me that isn't the last time of me seeing him. A dark purple bruise starts to form on my arm. When I get home I should bandage that up. Is Abanus still sleeping or is he waiting for me. I put my hand into my pockets to keep it warm.

My breathing starts to become uneven. I start staggering, I fumble to a nearby wall to support my weakening body.

My head starts to feel dizzy. I don't think it's from the beer. My body start feeling oddly hot, cheeks start to flush. It felt so uncomfortable, I wanted to relieve the pain so bad. The brows on my forehead knit together and my eyes moisten. I hold my chest and slap myself, struggle to keep conscious.

My vision starts to fade and become fuzzy. These damn legs of mine give out on me and I collapse onto the cold stone floor. Was I drugged or something, was it from the beer. The image of that smirk on that man flashes through my mind. I clench my fist weakly, I bite my tongue harshly so I could stay awake. It didn't work, I clutch the dirt on the ground. My eyelids shut and my mind shits down.

It turns black, the last thing I could remember was an approaching black silhouette.
