CHAPTER SEVEN

The sun had yet to rise, yet Angel found himself knocking on Tatum's door. The tattooed Mayan knew he had to talk to Tatum before she left this morning for Charming. He needed Tatum to know that he loved her, and everything with Adelita was a mistake. Angel only wanted her.

A smile took over Angel's face as Tatum opened the door, her blue hair in a messy bun, a pair of yoga pants adorned her legs, and an oversized sweater hung loosely off of her shoulders. "Hi." His voice was soft as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Can I come in?" Angel asked. The Mayan watched as Tatum bit down on her bottom lip before nodding her head, and stepping aside to let him in. A sigh of relief left Angel's mouth as he stepped inside the house. It hadn't occurred to him that Tatum could easily said no and shut the door in his face. He was fucking thankful she didn't though.

"I don't have long to talk Angel." Tatum spoke as silence fell over them. "I'm suppose to leave in-" She paused looking down at her phone. "ten minutes." She had wanted to talk to Angel before she left, but now that he was standing in front of her she was nervous. Tatum was sure Angel was there just to tell her he loved Adelita, and Tatum wasn't sure she could handle hearing those words spill from his mouth. Especially when she had a long drive ahead of her.

Angel nodded. He needed to do it now, he just needed to open his mouth and say those three words. "I love you." It felt like a weight was lifted off of his chest as the words fell from his mouth. Angel had been holding in that sentence for a while. "I just thought you should know." He added in a mumble as Tatum just stood there staring at him.

"What?" Tatum asked, shaking her head as if she didn't hear Angel correctly. "You love me?" The blue haired woman asked. Those were not the words she had expected to come out of Angel's mouth. A scoff suddenly left her mouth as her nose scrunched up in anger. "Why are you telling me this now?"

"What do you mean?" Angel asked confused. He didn't understand the anger in her body language or in her tone of voice. "I love you, mi amor." He repeated while reaching for Tatum's hand.

"I heard you." Tatum said while pulling her hand back from Angel's reach. "Is this your way of trying to make me stay?" She asked. "Because that's pretty fucking low, Reyes." Tatum crossed her arms, waiting to hear Angel's response.

Angel's brown eyes widened at Tatum's accusation. "Are you fuckin' jokin' me right now? I wouldn't fuckin' say I love you just to make you stay." This was not how Angel pictured this going at all. He just wanted Tatum to know that he loved her before she left for Charming, yet here they were raising their voices at one another.

"What about Adelita?" Tatum asked, the other woman's name left a bitter taste in her mouth. "Do you love her too?" It was a question that had plagued her mind for weeks. If Angel loved Adelita, she couldn't continue to see the tattooed Mayan she cared deeply about.

"No." Angel said quickly. "I don't love her." He truly didn't love Adelita, and he fucking prayed that Tatum believed him. Adelita was just there, just a warm body for him on the nights he couldn't get to Tatum, and he that was fucked up of him. "I'm sorry." He apologized, reaching for her hand once again.

Tatum let out a sigh, allowing Angel to take her hand in his. "I think this two weeks apart will be good." She said watching a frown take over Angel's handsome face. "This shit between us is getting so complicated, Angel." She wrapped her arms around his torso, putting her head on his chest.

Angel nodded, words failing him. He never meant to hurt Tatum, yet he did and it was fucking killing him to know that he hurt the woman he loved.

"I'll text you when I get to Charming." Tatum said while removing her arms from around Angel.

Angel walked towards the door, his brown eyes watching as Tatum picked up her suitcase off of the floor. The Mayan give her one last sad smile before walking out of the house. Angel sat on his bike watching as Tatum's mustang pulled out of the driveway, he had two weeks. Two weeks to get his shit together and show Tatum he wasn't just another Jax Teller.

A nostalgic smile took over Tatum's face as she drove pass the 'Welcome to Charming' sign. It had been a long drive, and it was finally almost over. Tatum could feel the nerves and excitement building up in her body, it had been a while since she had stepped foot in her small hometown l. The smile only grew bigger as Tatum drove down Main Street, each place she drove by bringing up memories.

Her smile faltered a bit as she found herself in front of her father's house. Ty James was not a shy man by any means, and he was never shy when it came to telling Tatum how he felt about her leaving. It had been years, but the long time Samcro member still held resentment towards his daughter.

Tatum got out of the car, leaving her suitcase behind. There was no way she would be staying at her father's house for the two weeks she was in town. She would rather stay at the rundown motel on the outskirts or Charming before staying with him. The blue haired woman took in a deep breath before knocking on the door. "Hi, dad." She said once the door opened.

"Hi, baby." A smile broke out on Ty's face as he pulled his daughter into a bone crushing hug. "Welcome home."
