CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Angel watched Tatum as she slept, a small smile sat on his face as her blue hair fanned out around her like waves. The Mayan was completely exhausted from the long drive from Santo Padre, but he couldn't sleep just yet. Angel nearly rode off without his brothers last night after Bishop got a call from Alvarez informing him that Tatum was sleeping off a few drinks at the Mayan clubhouse. The Reyes man didn't know what had happened to Tatum to make her spend the night at the Mayans' clubhouse, but he damn well was going to find out. Angel softly brushed a piece of Tatum's hair away from her face, he loved this woman with his whole fucking heart, and Angel had never loved any other woman beside his mother.

The Mayan watched as Tatum's eyes opened slowly, blinking a few times to adjust to the surprisingly bright dorm room. "Angel?" The sound of his name coming from her mouth felt like heaven. It had been too long since he heard her voice.

"Si, mi amor." He leaned forward in the worn leather chair. Angel so desperately wanted to crawl into the bed next to her and wrap her up in his arms, but he knew he couldn't do that just yet.

"You're not suppose to be here yet?" It came out of Tatum's mouth more like a question than a statement, and Angel wasn't sure if the blue haired woman was disappointed he was there or happy. He fucking prayed it was the latter.

"El padrino called Bish." Angel explained while rubbing the back of his neck. Angel could see the anger cross Tatum's face for a moment before her features went blank. "Figured we should get here earlier."

"We?" Tatum asked with a scoff as she threw the blanket off of her body. "Or do you mean you? Alvarez didn't need to call Bishop." Tatum said while shaking her head and standing up from the small bed. "Everything is so fucked up." Angel heard Tatum mutter to herself as she looked around the dorm for her belongings.

"Tatum." Angel said whole practically jumping up from the chair. He wasn't done talking to her, he couldn't let her leave. "What's all fucked up?" He asked while walking towards her. "Tatum!" Angel repeated his voice louder this time as the blue haired woman ignored him.

"What?!" She turned around to look at him with a glare in her eyes. "What do you want, Angel?" She asked in a softer tone while running a hand through her tangled hair.

Angel reached out and grabbed her hand, happy that she allowed him to, and placed a kiss on her fingertips. "What's all fucked up, mi amor?"

A smile found it's way onto Tatum's face as Angel's lips connected with her fingertips. It had been too long since she felt his lips on her body. "Everything." She said with a sigh. "You being in Charming, and Jax questioning me about my fucking loyalty to SAMCRO."

"You're one of the most fuckin' loyal people I know." Angel said softly while rubbing her cheek with his thumb. "That why you're in Oakland?"

"Part of it." Tatum didn't feel like rehashing the argument between her and Jax to Angel. "I've gotta get back to Charming." She said with a sigh. A part of her just wanted to stay in Oakland, in this dorm room all day with Angel, but another part of her knew she needed to go back to Charming and talk to Jax.

Angel placed his hands on Tatum's hips. "Stay here." He knew his tone sounded desperate, but he didn't care he was fucking desperate. "Fuckin' missed you, Tatum."

"I can't Angel." Tatum shook her head. "I still don't know how I feel about you or us." She admitted. "You really fucking hurt me, Angel." Tatum told him as tears filled her eyes. "I never thought you'd make me feel like a second choice, but you did." She wiped away at her eyes, pleading with herself not to let the tears fall.

Angel could see the tears in her eyes and he fucking hated himself. He hated himself for making her cry, and hurting her, but mostly he hated himself for making her feel like a second choice. It was what Jax had done to her, and he aways promised himself he never treat Tatum like how Jax Teller treated her. Tatum was never his second choice, she was his first and only, but he thought with his dick and now he was on the verge of loosing the love of his life.

"I'm so fuckin' sorry." The Mayan said. "You probably think my apologies are bullshit, but I'm so fuckin' sorry for hurting you, Tatum. I never wanted to hurt you. Fuck, I love you, and hurting you is the last thing I ever wanted to do." He said as his brown eyes pleaded with her to believe him.

Tatum nodded as she took in Angel's words. She believed him, and maybe that made her a fool, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to keep her heart guarded. "I believe you, Angel." She said softly while placing a kiss on his cheek.

A sigh of relief left Angel's lips as those words left Tatum's mouth. She believed him, and maybe just maybe he could get his girl back. He knew it would take action more than words to get Tatum back, but hopefully this was a start.
