November 2019

It was thanksgiving, since Rebecca and Colby were planning on spending Christmas in Dublin with her family, they were spending thanksgiving with His in Iowa.

It was always fun spending time with his family, they were always joking around and having a good time. Her family was very serious and would usually only make small talk.

"Rebecca!" Holly exclaimed and pulled her into a hug when they walked in "it's nice to see you"

"I'm starting to think you like her more than you like me" Colby shook his head

"Well dear, it's nice having another female around" Holly said "living with you and your brother all those years, I've felt very outnumbered"

"And let's face it, I'm a very likable person" Rebecca said

"Yeah yeah, I get it" Colby said

They ate, talked about whatever was going on in their lives and whatnot. Colby loved watching Rebecca interact with his family, it's like they immediately took to each other. They conversed effortlessly, something that was very surprising to him. With this past girlfriends, there were always barriers between them and it was almost like they didn't connect. Now with Rebecca it was like this was what was always meant to be.

"Colby, lets go out back and talk for a little" Holly said and nodded towards the back patio

He was confused but complied, usually they only went out back to have heart to heart conversations.

"She is something else" holly smiled "she's good for you son"

"It's like my worlds turned upside down, like I was seeing in black and white, then she came along and everything was colored again" Colby said

"But someone like that is someone you don't let go. You may never meet anybody else like her" Holly said

"Mom, we're engaged, i never planned on letting her go" he laughed

"You said that about a certain someone years ago, look where that led you" she said

"Rebecca's different, this time I mean it. She's my one and only, she's the person I want to wake up with everyday, the person I want to have kids with... This time it's forever" he said
