A month had done by since the last time Josh was able to visit Hawaii, a depression starting to make itself known as I sat at the kitchen table with a bowl of pineapple slices in front of me, though I didn't touch them. It wasn't fair at all that Josh and I were forced to be apart just because of some psycho, the depression draining my energy and changing my personality. The depression would worsen each time I took a pregnancy test, the results coming out negative each time.
"Just breathe." I whispered to myself, popping a slice of the yellow fruit in my mouth. The sound of a knock from the front door brought my head to whip around however, Bruce the bodyguard opening the door. Jen came walking into the house then, a jolt of happiness consuming me.
"Ashley!" Jen gasped in excitement as she ran over towards me, wrapping her arms tight around my body had I stood up from the kitchen chair.
"I didn't know you were coming." I laughed when she released me after a few moments.
"Mockingjay part one is already finished filming but Josh has to stay for a few more weeks to shoot the scenes that had to be pushed back." Jen explained. "Since I'm finally free then I took a private jet here to see you."
"I'm happy you're here." I smiled.
"Good." Jen smirked, taking my hand and pulling me to my bedroom. She closed the door and locked it, the brunette spinning around to lock her eyes with mine. "I'm kidnapping you." Jen whispered.
"What?"
"Shh!"
"What are you talking about?" I whispered back, confusion clear in my voice.
"Josh is all gloomy and grumpy right now with you not being there." Jen explained. "He's even starting to snap at people. Just the other day he snapped at me and then apologized a few hours later."
"So you want to sneak me out of Hawaii? How are we going to do that?"
"I have a plan." Jen smirked, walking over to my closet and pulled out a pair of black Converse sneakers. "Be ready to run."
My bodyguards accompanied Jen and me to a restaurant that was a few blocks away from the airport where a jet was waiting for us, Jen and me sitting together at a table while the bodyguards stood near the door.
"What's your plan?" I whispered. "I wasn't able to pack clothes or anything since they know something would be up." I glanced over towards the bodyguards before locking my eyes with Jen.
"I have it under control. Just follow my league." Jen whispered back as I nodded, the brunette standing up after paying for our lunch and walked over towards my two bodyguards. "Ashley and I are going to use the bathroom."
"Okay." Stan nodded, Jen walking back over towards me where I followed her into the bathroom. As soon as we walked into the large room she quietly locked the main door and turned her attention towards a window, the bottom of it being cracked open.
"Before I came to your house I already came here first and prepared the bathroom." Jen explained as she took me by the wrist and led me to the other side of the room.
"You're so sneaky." I laughed, the two of us quietly climbing through the window which led to the back of the building.
"We need to run as fast as we can." I nodded from Jen's words, the two of us sprinting which was easy since we both wore sneakers.
"How long do you think we have?" I asked, the heat making it hard to run though I didn't slow down.
"About five minutes." Jen responded. "Just keep running." I nodded, not looking back.
After getting on the jet successfully, flying to Atlanta and taking Jen's car to the stores to do some clothes shopping Jen drove me to Josh's condo he was staying at, the large building looking like an apartment complex from the outside. The inside however was absolutely beautiful, looking like a five-star hotel.
"You guys live here?" I gasped as I followed Jen to the elevator, the brunette pressing the button which said number eleven.
"Yup." Jen laughed. "I'm staying on the tenth floor. Josh should be home soon."
"Thank you, Jen." I smiled. "For doing this."
"No problem." Jen chuckled. "It was fun." I laughed as Jen led me to Josh's room and opened the door after unlocking it, the two of us walking inside. To my complete surprise it was the same exact setup as the beach house, Jen quickly noticing my shock. "He didn't tell me why but he wanted the beach house to match the condo. Maybe because when both of you are sleeping in your rooms at night then it would be like the two of you were together. I don't know."
"At least I know where all the rooms are." I said as I walked in the direction towards the bedroom.
"I'm gonna go before Josh comes. You two have fun." Jen snickered as I walked back over towards her and hugged my best friend tightly. After thanking her again she left, to which I quickly hid the bags of clothes in the laundry room and stood in the kitchen. It didn't take long at all for Josh to unlock the door and enter the condo, a sigh escaping his throat as he closed and locked the door. I slightly poked my head around the corner, seeing that Josh was just standing there by the door looking down. I could tell from where I stood that tears were burning his eyes, prompting me to walk into the living room.
"Josh..." He quickly looked up from hearing my voice, pure shock washing over his features.
"A-Ashley?" Josh gasped. "What are you doing here?"
"Jen brought me." I offered a small smile. "She told me how upset you were so we broke away from my bodyguards and took a jet here."
"It's dangerous for you to be here. You need to go back to Hawaii."
"No." I shook my head, walking towards Josh. "Us being apart isn't the answer, Josh. I know you think you're keeping me safe, but it's been hell without you. I'm staying here."
"But-"
"I said I'm staying." I argued, placing my hand on Josh's cheek. "I can be protected while staying here. I love that Hawaii house and I want to live there, but not without you. Please, Josh... let me stay here until you're finished filming. Once you're done with filming then we can go back to Hawaii."
"You're so reckless." Josh sighed, wrapping his arms around me. "I've missed you so much."
"I've missed you too." I smiled, pulling Josh to me as our lips connected. He led me into his bedroom and closed the door, a long night of passion soon to consume us.
