The next morning came as I was already awake and looking over towards Josh, a small smile on my face as he peacefully slept on his back, the young man's face facing towards me. Last night was one of the best nights I've had in a long time since Josh and I were hanging out with our friends, though they went home around 2am since Josh and I needed to get some sleep. Josh had filming almost all day today, and I had to take Abigail to the doctor's office for a checkup which Sam Claflin was taking me to this afternoon. Josh then slowly opened his eyes slightly before closing them again, a small smile appearing on his face.
"You're staring." Josh said.
"I'm gazing." I responded with a smile.
"It's creepy."
"It's romantic!" I chuckled. Josh turned his back to me and hid his head underneath the pillows. "Hey!" I laughed while pulling away the pillows from his head.
Josh smirked and leaped on top of me, the blonde kissing me passionately as I welcomed it. After a few long moments I pulled away from Josh and looked up at him with a sweet smile.
"I have to go take a shower."
"Great. Let's go." Josh grinned playfully.
"I meant just me." I laughed. "You're going to be late for filming and I need to get ready before Sam gets here."
"Well I need to take a shower too so let's just take one together."
"If we ended up taking a shower together then we'll have other things on our minds." I pointed out.
"So? You can be my morning workout." The playful smirk on Josh's face caused me to easily cave in as I placed my hand on the back of his neck and pulled him down, Josh connecting his lips with mine passionately as he pulled the blanket over us.
It was a little after noon when a knock was then heard from the door, prompting Josh to open it as Sam walked in. Josh was already fifteen minutes late for filming, which Sam apologized for and explained about the heavy traffic.
"I'll see you later." Josh said to me before giving me and Abigail a kiss, the small infant wide awake in her car seat carrier. "Thank you so much Sam."
"I was the one who offered so no need to thank me." Sam smiled as Josh and I chuckled, all of us leaving the condo at the same time but went to separate cars. Josh quickly honked the horn as he passed us while I was strapping the car seat securely in the back of Sam's car, the two of us waving at Josh.
"So how's filming?" I asked once Abigail was secured in the backseat.
"Pretty good." Sam responded as I buckled in next to him. "I'm not scheduled to shoot any scenes until later tonight."
"Well it's 2pm right now. We'll get you back on set in time."
"I'm not worried about it." Sam shrugged, bringing the car to life before driving out of the underground parking garage.
The three of us waited in the waiting room inside the doctor's office silently, the room currently empty. Abigail was giggling from the funny faces Sam was giving her which made me chuckle, though he easily picked up on my nerves which prompt him to place his hand on top of mine.
"Nervous?"
"Yeah." I sighed, giving him a nod. "I always get nervous during her checkups."
"Don't be nervous." Sam gave my hand a light squeeze of reassurance, to which I took a calming breath and nodded. "How are things with you and Josh?"
"We officially just got back together a couple days ago." I smiled.
"Are you guys engaged again?"
"Not yet." I shook my head. "I want to wait about six months and see how things go. If everything plays out smoothly then I'll talk to Josh about wedding plans."
"That's a good idea." Sam nodded in agreement. The doctor who looked to be in his early fifties walked in the room then as Sam released my hand, a kind smile on the doctor's face.
"You guys can follow me now." Sam and I stood up from the doctor's words, to which Sam grabbed Abigail's carrier and followed the doctor with me right behind him.
"Where do you want me to put her?" Sam asked.
"Right on that cot will be fine." The doctor responded, Sam nodding as he placed the carrier carefully down. I then unstrapped Abigail and held her as Sam took away the car seat carrier, bringing me to gently place Abigail down in the middle of the cot as the doctor was scribbling a few notes inside his small notebook. Abigail looked around the room in wonder, trying to figure out where she was.
We were there for only a good ten minutes or so, the doctor only having to check Abigail's weight, height and her senses. Abigail did however will have to come back in two weeks for a shot, which I knew would make her cry since she hated the shot she had to get when she was two months old.
"So everything is okay with her?" I asked the doctor as my nerves shot back up.
"Abigail is doing just great." The doctor chuckled.
"Ashley worries too much." Sam commented with a laugh.
"Very funny." I playfully rolled my eyes.
After leaving the doctor's office we decided to head over towards the filming studio and surprise Josh since he didn't expect us to be there, the two of us walking out of the car with Abigail in my arms while she looked around. We got on set and to the filming area just as Josh and Jen were finished shooting a scene, all of the staff members welcoming me and Abigail happily before Sam and I stood beside the director. He yelled "Cut!" and was pleased with the scene.
"There's my baby girl!" Jen squeaked happily as she ran over towards me and Sam, Josh shaking his head and laughing as I handed Jen the smiling infant. "Awe look! She's happy to see me!"
"She's always happy to see you." I chuckled, Jen smiling before walking away with Abigail to spend time with her.
"Hey." Josh greeted me as he laced his fingers through mine. "You guys were quick."
"There was only one person ahead of us in the waiting room." Sam responded. "Now if you excuse me; there's a table of food calling my name." Josh and I chuckled as Sam walked away, the director looking down towards me.
"Would you want to be an extra?"
"Are you serious?" I gasped in shock, looking at the director.
"Yeah. We can squeeze you in somewhere." I smiled excitedly, to which Josh laughed from my response.
