A few days pass and all was peaceful. The Outlanders were welcomed into new territories and were adjusting to their new life perfectly. Kibori's float had their own river but they were welcomed to Makku's float if they wanted to as long as they didn't cause any trouble and followed the crocodile laws. The vultures perched by the cliffs on the decaying trees. The jackal's had their own turf where they wouldn't cause any mischief and the hyenas moved to the Backlands to share Jasiri's territory and learn their way of life. Janja still wasn't happy about any of it but his daughter was his Alpha now. He had to give everything a chance.
"Janja. Long time no see," Jasiri greets them when his clan arrive at her territory.
"Hey Jasiri," he grumbles.
Hasira nudges her father's side and grins, "Be nice dad".
Janja huffs and Jasiri couldn't contain a laugh. Jasiri and Hasira got along surprisingly quickly much to Janja's discontent. Two young pups come running to greet them. Jasiri smiles at them.
"Dadisi, Hazina, this is Hasira and Janja. Hasira is the Alpha of her clan and Janja is her dad," Jasiri says gently to the pups.
"Are they yours?" Janja asks.
Jasiri nods, "Yeah. They remind me so much of their father".
"Where is he?" Janja asks.
Jasiri lowers her head. Sadness and grief covered her face.
"Oh," replies Janja, "I'm so sorry. I lost my mate too when my pups were little".
"Now they will have new friends to help take care of them, I promise," Hasira says as she ruffles the pups' fur on their heads.
"I know they will. I'll see you two around then," Jasiri says as she gives them one last smile before turning to leave.
Her pups quickly follow her. Hasira grins at her dad. He looks at her with a raised eyebrow.
"You don't have to hold onto the past dad. I think it would make mum happy to know that you're happy. I'm sure she'd understand if there was someone else to make you smile," Hasira explains as she too walks off.
Janja looks at his daughter and smiles, "Maybe she's right. She's going to be the best Alpha like we always dreamed she'd be, Damu. I wish you were here to see this and I hope I can fix the bad I've caused".
Nyota and Nguvu find Moyo and Imani at PrideRock deep in conversation. Nyota had to call out to them to get their attention. Nyota hadn't really talked to Moyo about their little 'date' but she hoped he would be ok that she just wanted to stay friends. She was surprised to see them both smiling. Not fake smiles but real happy smiles.
"Hey guys," Nyota says.
"Morning," they reply.
"Moyo? Can we talk about that date we went on?" Nyota asks.
"Yeah. I wanted to talk to you about it too. I know about you and Nguvu and I'm happy for you," Moyo replies.
"You are?"
"I should've known that you two would eventually become a couple. He's had his eye on you longer than I have".
Nguvu's face goes red and Nyota, Moyo and Imani laugh. Nyota licks his cheek and he gives her a loving smile.
"We also have some news that changes things," Imani begins, "Moyo and I have been betrothed".
"Are you two happy about it?" Nguvu asks a little concerned.
"We were shocked at first," Moyo replies.
"But we have accepted the facts and we're happy that we have each other. I couldn't ask for a better soon to be king," Imani continues.
Nyota and Nguvu smile. They were happy that they were in love and happy to be betrothed. Imani was going to make an amazing queen someday and it was only fitting that she had an amazing king ruling by her side.
"We're so happy for you. You will be a legendary King and Queen," says Nguvu.
"Maybe," says Imani with a smile, "We will aim to keep the peace at all costs".
Rafiki and Makini sit side by side as the wind flies through their fur. They smile and open their eyes to speak to the kings of the past.
"It was a close one Mufasa but it was worth it to make peace," says Rafiki.
"Agreed. I hope we never have a war with them again. It lasted too long with too much bloodshed," replies Makini.
A warm breeze settles them and they breathe out slowly.
"Peace will remain between the two lands as long as they listen and trust each other. It will be this way for many generations to come. I know it," Says Makini.
Hasira's siblings make friends with Jasiri's clan quicker than she ever thought possible. Shetani had told her about her secret relationship with Ubongo, Reirei's grandson a few days ago and she was happy for her. Hasira was also relieved to hear that they will stay in the Pridelands and Backlands for a while. With peace between the two lands, there was no need to run away to be happy. Even Hatari and Bingwa were getting along well with Jasiri's clan and they were happy. Happy to no longer be hated for who or what they are and to no longer starve as long as they followed the circle of life. The Backlands weren't that far away from the Pridelands so she still saw Siku and his friends often. She wasn't sure what the future had in store for them but as long as they were happy, she was happy to let fate lead her anywhere.
Kion sat on a hill, the wind calmly drifting through his fur. His mate Fuli sat by his side leaning her head on his shoulder. She purrs when he licks her cheek. They had to admit that they were a little worried when Nyota made peace the Outlanders and welcomed them into the Pridelands. Kion was constantly looking over his shoulder just in case but as the days passed, he slowly let his distrust and suspicions go. They trusted their daughter's judgement and they had to trust Hasira to take care of their son. She did make Siku happy after all.
"Who would've thought it'd be our little Nyota who'd make peace with the Outlanders?" Kion asks with a little chuckle.
Fuli simply smiles, "The great kings trusted her. She was destined to do this. It was what Nyota and Siku were born to do".
"I know, Fuli. I'm so proud of them," Kion replies.
"Me too, Kion. Me too".
