Beyonce POV

..."Bey, Bey," I heard my name echoing in the distance.

Immediately my eyes shot wide opened.

Thank God it was just a dream.

"What's wrong my baby?" Nicki said as she put the duffle bag down and sat next to me on one of the couches in the hospital's private waiting room. She sat down and started rubbing my back. "I brought you a bag with some stuff. You can go and freshen up. I'll come with you," Nicki said smiling.

I looked at myself and noticed that I still had the same clothes on when we came here earlier. I took the bag and Nicki followed behind.

I went back to the private waiting room with Nicki after freshening up.

"Here's some food Bey," I heard Kelly as she handed me some takeaway with food. I shook my head refusing to eat, "Beyonce Giselle Knowles. Don't make me force feed you coz you know I will," she said sternly.

Knowing what Kelly was capable of, I immediately took the takeaway and started eating. I looked around and saw Nicki and Kelly on both of my sides rubbing my back. I lifted my head and saw James, Nelly and Chris sitting opposite me.

"How are you feeling baby mama?" Chris said lowly.

"I'll be a lot better if the doctor can come and tell me that my son is OK," I said lowly.

We sat for a couple of minutes and one of the doctors treating Alex came to us, "Good evening. I'm Dr Holland and I'm looking for Alexander Brown's parents," he said standing I front of us. Immediately, Chris and I stood up. "Follow me please. Your son is out of surgery and his fine," he said smiling.

We followed him and he led us to Alex's room. When we got in I saw my baby quietly sleeping. He had a bandage on his chest.

I went over and held Alex's hand, "You'll be alright baby," I said lowly.

"Don't worry baby mama, he's still your child so his a fighter," Chris said handing me a chair to sit on. He pulled one for himself and sat next to me, "You know, when I was about his age. I got bitten by a venomous snake but my dad refused to suck the venom out," he said.

"Why?" I said sounding shocked as to why a father refused to help his son.

"Its because the snake bit my ass plus the snake bit me really close to my asshole. My dad was like 'I ain't putting my lips on no man's ass like some bitch'," Chris said laughing. "My butt swelled up so much they started calling me 'bubble butt'," Chris said still laughing.

Chris's laugh was contagious I also found myself laughing, "Your father ain't shit," I said still laughing.

"You got that right," he said catching his breath. "What I'm trying to say is, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I bet the snake venom increased my resistance to stuff and I believe it was passed on to mini me," he said placing his hand on my shoulder.

I heard Chris clearing his throat, "Bey," he said lowly and I turned to his direction. "I'm sorry. I know I've been a shitty father to Alex and a terrible baby daddy to you. Its just, I've been busy lately sealing a deal with the owner of the restaurant I managed. I'm now part owner of the restaurant," he said smiling. "Also, you don't have to worry about Jordin because I dumped her stupid ass."

I congratulated him on his huge achievement plus him being part owner of the restaurant.

I heard a knock and saw Nicki gesturing for me to come outside the room. "What's up babe?" I said closing the door behind me.

"I've decided to quit," she said.

"Quit what?" I said with a raised eyebrow.

She sighed, "Seeing that this drug dealing business almost cost me my son, imma have to quit. The reason I got in the business was because I didn't have a family to look after. I was just doing me but that all changed when I met you. I fell in love with you and I became a softie. I felt the need to be always there for you and Alex and I can't do that when I have a dangerous job. I then decided to make James the new leader. Its gonna take some time but ownership will eventually go to James," Nicki said.

Never in my life someone went that far just to be with me. That just makes me love and respect Nicki more.

I pulled Nicki closer to me as I held her waist. She wrapped her arms around my neck and I kissed her soft lips. I pulled away and looked at her in the eye while smiling, "I love you my gummy bear."
