A loud buzz came from Finn's alarm clock. Finn groaned holding a pillow over his face attempting to block out the sound. He tried to fall back asleep, but the noise only got more annoying with every passing second. He squeezed his eyes shut doing his best to refuse the urge to get out of his bed. He didn't want to go to school, he loved his job, only down fall is the time he has to attend it. Who's dumb idea wanted school to start early in the morning? The battle between him and the alarm clock came to a end with Finn giving up. He pushed the pillow off him, and slammed his hand on the clock knocking it off. "Crap." Finn groaned. Finn rubbed his eyes before looking at the sleeping child out like a light on his chest. Finn smiled, he used his finger to wipe the drool escaping from Neal's mouth. Neal stirred a little grabbing the giant finger, Neal hugged it like a pillow. Finn hated to wake Neal up, after last night Neal deserves the rest. However they both needed to get up. "Hey little one, time for school." Finn cooed. Neal moaned unhappily hiding his face in Finn's chest. "Nooo! Too early!" Neal whined. "I know, but we have to get ready." Finn said. "I decided I'm staying home! You can't make me do anything!" Neal curled up in a ball. "Neal..." Finn began. "Why do I have to go?" Neal asked, his voice muffled. "You have to go because you have to learn about stuff! You can make awesome friends to hang out with! It really helps with social skills!" Finn attempted to change Neal's view of the school. "Are you sure it's going to be okay?" Neal asked. "I promise!" Finn said. "What is the school like?" Neal asked sitting up. "Well your going to have at least a few classes with human and giants, trust me it's not as bad as it may seem. At the end of the day you will be me." Finn said. "How about if I get lost?" Neal pouted. Finn chuckled, "If you get lost, ask any other teachers, there to help." Finn said. Neal huffed, he couldn't get out of staying home. "Fine... I'll get ready." Finn brightly smiled, but it went away when he noticed something on the side of Neal's face. "Neal whats this." Finn brushed his thumb against the child's cheek. Neal hissed in pain, pushing the thumb away. "Nothing." Neal lied rather quickly "Looks like a bruise." Finn said concerned. "It's not." Neal sounded nervous and angry. "Let me take a better look at." Neal slapped Finn's hand away, "No! Take me to my room please." Finn looked at Neal suspiciously, "Please let me take a look at it." This time Finn grabbed Neal in a fist making sure his little step brother couldn't escape. Finn examined Neal. A large noticeable bruise sat on Neal's face. " Woah, how in the world did you get this bruise?" Finn asked himself. "I... fell of my bed last night when I got up." Neal lied, Finn suspiciously looked at Neal. Something didn't feel right, but Finn had to investigate this later. "Okay, be careful next time. Now, let's get ready." Finn pushed the blanket off him, he swung his long legs of the bed. His feet slammed against the ground, the giants skin grew goosebumps from the cold air. Finn walked out his room, and lifted the roof to Neal's bedroom. "Go ahead and get ready, I'll be back in say 15 minutes, than we can have someone breakfast before leaving." The giant dropped Neal off and shut the roof. Neal bolted into his bathroom, he took a glance at the mirror. the bruise on his face looked horrible. He put the pain to the side and had to decide want to wear. Finding the right clothes to wear were pretty hard. Approval from his mother is the first step, she made sure he didn't look like a hobo. Neal went over to his dresser opening the drawers, contains jeans, sweatpants, short sleeve and button up shirts. He grabbed a pair of blue jeans, and a sweat shirt, finished off with black converse. Neal took all of his clothes back to the bathroom, he sat them down on the ground while he turned on the shower knob. The swelling pain pulsed through his face from the bruise. He trained himself to live with this type of pain. Usually he got hit every day for a while. Soon enough Neal leaned to understand the rules, he shamed himself for slipping up whenever he broke the rules. Neal shook his thoughts off, he jumped in the shower allowing the hot water to beat against his skin. After the shower, he got out and looked back in the mirror. There he saw how really skinny he is, no wonder everyone gets concerned over his eating. Neal first put on the jeans, he hated these type of pants. They always made him itch and hardly allowed to breathe. Next, he slipped on the black sweatshirt, he pulled down over his head. Last he put on his converse. Neal felt proud of his look on this day. He brushed his teeth, and exited the bathroom. The roof of the room opened, instead of Finn it was David. "Morning kiddo, sleep good?" David sweetly asked. "Kind of..." Neal said. "Finn's making breakfast, are you finished getting ready?" Neal nodded at David, the giant man scooped up Neal in his palm. David was dressed in police uniform, his badge shined brightly, a gun strapped to his side, and a walkie talkie attached to the front of shirt. Neal admired how cool it is to be able to see every small detail in the uniform. Neal's size gave him this advantage, but still it made Neal feel small. "Do you enjoy being a officer?" Neal asked. "I absolutely love it, my grandfather served in the force. He inspired me to join it. Then I met Emily, she gave me the final push to become a officer. Neal became confused, "Who is Emily." David sighed, "She was my wife, before she died." Neal bit his lower lip, Neal didn't mean to bring up a sad situation. "Sorry, I didn't mean to..." David stopped him from talking and smiled. "It's okay." David patted Neal's head with his finger. David took them to the kitchen, where a wonderful smell of eggs and bacon filled the air. At the oven Finn wore a jeans, a black long sleeve shirt, and a pair of tennis shoes. He whistled, as he whisked the eggs in the pan. At the table sat Molly in human size chair. "Good morning everyone!" David announcement entering the room. Neal put his hands over his ears, David's loud energized voice hurt his ear drums. "Morning dad." Finn smiled finishing making the food. David  sat Neal over by Molly, then took a seat at the table. "How did you sleep last Neal?" Molly ask, Neal glared at her for a brief second. "Peachy." He said coldly. "Watch your tone, no need for you to get in trouble this early." She said silently. "Neal would you like some food?" Finn asked. "No, thanks I'm not really that hungry." Finn frowned, every needs to have breakfast. "You sure?" Finn ask. "I am, a little nervous that's all." Neal said. "Eat now." Molly ordered. Neal obeyed and told Finn he would like some food. Finn gave Neal a human size plate with bacon and eggs. Neal sat with Molly at the human table. Neal's stomach twisted, he can't eat food when feeling nervous. He caught a glare from his mother, he feared another punishment may be coming. He grabbed his fork and took a bite of the eggs. His nerves didn't even let Neal enjoy the delicious taste, instead his belly only felt worst. He began to shake, his hands sweated, the idea of being around giants all day started to begin far to much for him. "Neal are you okay buddy?" Finn asked. "No... I mean yes!" Neal said. His chest tightened, intense breathing escaped him. He tried to control the panic attack, but failed miserably. "Neal it's okay! Your going to fine!" David and Finn leaned their bodies across the table. "I... I can't do it!" Neal screamed. "Bud calm down!" David said, Neal still didn't calm himself. "Dad help him!" Finn yelled, feeling overly helpless. "There's nothing I can do!" David shouted. Molly had enough, she got up from her chair and grabbed Neal by the shirt. "CALM YOUR ASS DOWN!" She screamed straight to his face. Neal had enough as well, all of his nerves flew out when he barfed on Molly's shirt. "YOU LITTLE..." Molly went to rise her hand, Molly stopped when remembered the two giants starring at her. She pushed Neal away from her, he began to lose his balance. Finn placed his hand down for Neal to lay down on. "Maybe he shouldn't go to school yet. It's too much for him." Finn said. "I second that. Neal obviously needs more time to adjust, he can start school in a few more weeks." David said. Molly opened her mouth to speak, but was stopped by Neal. "No... I can do it." Neal weakly said. "Kid are you sure, you had a panic attack just thinking about school, how do you thing are going to do when your actually there?" David asked. "I can deal with it.I have to be brave." Neal boldly said. "I admire your bravery Neal. But are you sure?" Finn asked, lifting Neal up to his eyes. "I am." Neal said. "Alright." Finn smiled. "David please take me to our room, I need to change." Molly scoffed. "Of course dear." David smiled. "Dad me and Neal should probably get going." Finn said. "Okay you two have a good day." David said. Finn and Neal said their final good byes before leaving.
Neal wished the drive would have lasted longer to school. Sadly it didn't, before he knew it Finn was carrying him to the school. The building is a large, a pair of large doors are swung open leading into it. Entering the school is both human and giant children, Neal gulped these human kids had to brave walking around huge ones. Finn took them into the school, how it was set up is a little unique. There are yellow lines drawn all over the floor, they are there to lead the human kids in a safe path to each room without worrying about being crushed. The giants lockers were created to be lifted off the ground a little, under those were the human size lockers. Finn walked down the busy hallway, and bent down on the ground dropping Neal in front a the lockers. "Okay Neal, your locker is 110A, then go straight down the hallway and enter the first human size door on your right. The home room teachers name should be Mrs. Miller. She will have your schedule. Just follow it and make sure you walk between the yellow lines! I need to go now. I have a good buddy!" Finn kissed his finger and pressed up against Neal. In a flash Finn got up and walked around. "You got this... you got this..." Neal mumbled to himself. His hands became so sweaty he had trouble getting ahold of the handle on his locker. Thankfully he managed to get a grip on it. He opened the locker and threw his bag in there. "Okay... now where did Finn say to go?" Neal nervously looked around the enormous hallway. "Go straight down, first human door on the right." Neal repeated Finn's words. He continued to walk under the large lockers, he watched as giant children stomped through the hallway, their loud voices sounded similar to thunder as they laughed and talked. Neal came to the end of hall, and as Finn said there stood a door leading to a human room. Neal entered it, the room filled with kids talking among each other. At the front of the classroom, a old woman sitting at her desk. She wore a pink outfit, her grey hair up in a bun, and had a large pair of glasses on. Neal, decided to go up to her. "Excuse m... me." Neal stuttered, the woman looked up from her desk. "Oh why hello there! You must be the new student!" She said. Neal nodded, the woman grabbed a pile of paper looking through them. "Ah here we are! Neal correct?" She said. "Yes." Neal said. "Here is your schedule, just follow it and you'll get through your day perfectly. Now go take a seat anywhere and in 10 minutes the bell will dismiss everyone." Neal grabbed the schedule from her, he thanked the woman and took a seat far in the back. He began to read the schedule:
