ARNAV

I hadn't seen Khushi for three days, and it was kind of driving me crazy, every time I passed by her house, she wasn't around. All I wanted was to just sit with her for five minutes, have a look at her and appreciate the fact that she was mine.

I kept pacing around in my cabin wondering what to do, I had tried to call her twice but she told me she was busy in a shoot and will call me later which she dint, I was starting to get worried.

I mean we started dating, we went on a date and everything seemed fine, and now suddenly everything was different, or that's what I thought.

I couldn't really concentrate at work so I figured I'd go home and talk to Ishani, maybe she would help me somehow.

I headed to the parking lot, got into my car and drove home.

When I arrived, I found mom and dad standing outside talking to some of the servants, I ignored them and decided to head in straight but as if they were going to let me.

"Arnav" My father called me, I wasn't really in the moods of an argument right now and whenever dad and I talked, we would always argue about one thing or the other.

"What are you doing?" He looked at me strictly as I walked towards him.

"Excuse me?"

"Just because we spend a lot of time inside this palace doesn't mean we don't know what's happening out there. What's going on between you and the girl you brought home for dinner that day?" He asked. Oh so this was about Khushi? How did he even know, we had started dating like five days ago or something.

But then I forgot, Khushi was a model, obviously the media was always publishing every new thing about her.

"Why do you care?"

"Whatever that's going on between you two it better stop, there is no way a girl like that will become a daughter in law of this family."

"What do you mean a girl like that?" Okay now I was getting angry.

"He just means she's not suitable for our family, I mean have you seen her pictures on the internet, the kind of clothes she wear, horrible." My mother added.

"You two never fail to surprise me. Wake up mother, we live in the 21st century, when will you stop judging a girl's character by the clothes she wears."

"We have traditions in this family Arnav." Dad said.

"Yes traditions where you always treat the women in this house like trash, disrespect them, treat them like servants, and deny them education and decide for them what they should wear and do in their lives as if they have no choice of their own.

The world has moved far away from that, you also need to. Whatever that's between Khushi and I is special and I won't let any of you ruin it, whether you like it or not, she is my girlfriend, and one day she's going to be the daughter in law of this house, let me see who can change that." I walked away from them angrily, that's why I always came home late at night to sleep, because my family and the petty thoughts they had always left me questioning myself as to why I even bothered to live here yet.

"Arnav." Ishani smiled at me, she was seated with Dhruv in the hall helping him with some work.

"How have you been? I haven't seen you in a while."

"I've been coming home pretty late."

"So I heard about you and Khushi, did you finally talk to her?"

"Yes, I took you advice and did what you told me to, and I feel so happy, she makes me so happy." I smiled.

"That's great, I'm happy for you."
