"Mei?" Her grandfather asked
"M-my soul...i-it appeared" Mei said
"What? What do you mean it appeared?" Her grandfather asked
"My soul...it appeared. The werecat! She stood behind me and looked at me!" Mei said
"Seriously? Did you finally develop your werecat powers?" Her grandfather asked surprised
"I-I don't think so...I-I mean I don't have my powers yet but...she stood there. She just looked at me and comforted me. I-I still need a little time for my powers to appear" Mei said as she looked at her palm
And finally...I'll be able to fight back and protect my people. I won't look weak anymore...
"You should probably train once the wedding day is over. The next day we'll start your training and hopefully that'll make your werecat soul appear" Her grandfather said
"I guess that could work" Mei said
"How did you make it appear or why did it appear?" Her grandfather asked
"Uhm...it happened when I was with Vix" Mei said
"What? Vix?" Her grandfather asked
"Yes" Mei said
"You weren't doing anything with that boy right?" Her grandfather asked
"Wh-what? No. Of course not" Mei said
"Good. You know what'll happen if you two get too close. The alliance will be broken and we'll all die..." Her grandfather said
"I know that. You don't have to remind me..." Mei said
"I know you care about him but don't get too attached. You know that you're suppose to mate with that princess for this alliance to work" Her grandfather said
"Yes sir" Mei said
"Good. I'll be speaking with the old Okogi about this and we'll see what happens" Her grandfather said
"What about...the Nishiharas?" Mei asked
"What about them? They're dead..." Her grandfather said
"Wh-what? A-all of them?" Mei asked
"Yes...they killed them all. Your grandfather as well..." Her grandfather said
"H-him? But...why all of them?" Mei asked
Not all of them were bad people...they were just protecting themselves...
"Why...did you let them kill all of them?" Mei asked
"Mei...you know I couldn't do anything about it. We're under the Okogi's protection and it's best to just follow along with their plan or else they'll just kill us" Her grandfather said
"...when will they stop killing? It's just not right..." Mei said
"I heard from the King that once this alliance is done. He promised to not kill or harm any other kingdom" Her grandfather said
"I bet they're just saying that. You don't know if it's actually true..." Mei said
"But there is nothing we can do. I told you once you agreed to do this. There is no going back..." Her grandfather said
"Yes...I knew the risk I was taking" Mei said
"Mei...do you remember your mother's power?" Her grandfather asked
"My...mother's power?" Mei asked
Why does he want to talk about it now?
"You see...during the battle with the Nishiharas. I sensed a familiar power coming from the Okogi. During the fight with the King, I saw a black shadow coming from the castle. I remember that power too. Your mother used it against her enemies to end them in one hit" Her grandfather said
"W-wait...you're saying...th-that she...has a power like hers?" Mei asked
"Something like that...but it's really hard to explain. Her power seemed so similar like your mother's" Her grandfather said
"But...how is that possible? I mean the Okogis only have that fire power. How come her power is similar to mother's?" Mei asked
"I'm not sure if it's true or not. I might be imagining things but...I wonder if that Okogi has the Nishihara power" Her grandfather said
"What? Th-that's crazy! How?!" Mei exclaimed
"Mei keep your voice down. We don't want anyone to overhear this" Her grandfather said
"S-sorry but...it's just....it seems impossible for her to have the power" Mei said
"I've never thought someone else was able to use the Nishihara power..." Her grandfather said
"Have you asked the old King about it?" Mei asked
"No. It's best not to talk about it..." Her grandfather said
"What if I asked her about it?" Mei asked
"What? No Mei. It's best not to bring that topic up" Her grandfather said
"But...how is she able to use the Nishihara power?" Mei asked
"I'm not sure if that's possible for someone to use the power of someone else. Anyways it's best if we keep this to ourselves for now until we have proof. We don't want to get them mad" Her grandfather said
"Right...she gets pissed of so easily" Mei said
I don't get what's her problem. I hate this shitty alliance plan but I'm not acting all pissed or anything. There is no need to take your anger out on anyone...
"Mei, promise me that you'll keep this topic a secret between us" Her grandfather said
"I promise grandfather. I won't speak a word about this to anyone. Not even my friends..." Mei said
"Good" Her grandfather said. After having that small conversation, Mei stepped out of the room and walked down the hallway
That Okogi using the Nishihara power...is that even possible or was grandfather just seeing things?
"Hey Mei" Vix said
"Huh? Vix what are you doing?" Mei asked
"Hehe sorry about that. I was just looking for the other guys" Vix said as he smiled nervously
"Hm? You don't know where the others are?" Mei asked
"No. The other princesses ended up leaving with their future brides since they have to get to know each other more" Vix said
"Himeko and Harumi left?" Mei asked
"Yeah with their future brides" Vix said and sighed
"Maybe you can just go to the training area. That's probably where they went" Mei said
"You're probably right but...I don't want to waste my time in training. I've already spent so much time in training...heh...I might end up going to the village just to explore the place" Vix said and looked at Mei
"Hey Mei" Vix said
"Yes?" Mei replied
"What happened when you told your grandfather about your soul?" Vix asked
"Oh...that. He just said that I should train after the wedding day. That might help me develop my werecat powers and soul. I need to learn to control it..." Mei said
"I know you'll be able to do it, Mei. You are amazing" Vix said as he smiled at her. Mei smiled softly and blushed a little
"Thanks Vix" Mei said
"Heh no problem Mei. You know I'm always here for you" Vix said
