"Time to look for a job", I thought to myself. All this time that I've been living off my savings was seriously draining my bank account. I had saved a pretty good sum when I had the business, even more after I sold it.

Hmm, where do I even start? I had my college degree in Business Administration, so hopefully it wouldn't be such a hard job to find. I decided to search on those job websites, found a couple of good listings. I made sure to include my resume and PDF files of my degree. Phew, well that took the entire morning.

I don't know why I had never used my laptop in this room before. Since Ryan had a house, this second bedroom was converted into a study/office room. Still looks so much cleaner than my messy office room that I had with Kyle.

I left the office room to get a snack; the entire morning had already passed since I woke up late today, but I was eager for Ryan to come home. After yesterday... I couldn't stop blushing around him. Even if Lee came over today, I'm sure the blushing would never end.

Although I had decided that something like that would never happen again, I kind of wanted it to. The sole fact that Lee thought I was 'sexy' meant a lot. I can't get rid of Ryan though! He's the only one that has ever paid attention to my nonsense and made sense of it.

He's the only one I've ever been completely honest with.
RING. Sh-it. I had left my phone in the bedroom. I quickly ran to grab and answer whoever was calling. "Hello?"
"Yes, with Scarlet Ames please?"

"Speaking..." The man on the other line sounded calm and warm.
"I just wanted to let you know that you got a job here with Sunrise Rehabilitation if you want it."

I literally just put my application thirty minutes ago and I got a job? I must've slept for too long. Or maybe I'm still asleep? "I'm sorry, can I ask who's calling?"

"Scarlet, I'm surprised you didn't recognize my voice by now. It's me. Jacob Parker from high school."

Jacob Parker... Jacob freaking Parker? I mean, it's been a long time, but yeah I remembered him, "Jacob, what are you doing here in North Carolina.."
"I moved right after college once I got offered the job here, so do you want to work here or not?"

"Hmm, what does the job entail? I'm not so sure if I want to be around you all the time." I joked, but he was a sweet talker. I always knew that if I wasn't going to be Kyle, somehow I knew I was going to end up dating him.

"The job title professionally is called Human Resources Client Rights Officer, but you'll be spending most of the time with me. SO, you have to take it."

"I'm surprised you even recognized my name from my application Jacob, you must've been in love with me." I waited for his sarcastic remark back, "But yes, I'll take the job."
"Great. You start tomorrow at eight in the morning sharp. No takebacks." He chuckled, "Oh business casual is our attire."
"You got it..boss?"

"Damn right." I laughed again and we hung up. YES! Finally, something to do rather than me waiting here for Ryan to come back home.

I did my jumping up 'happy' dance as Ryan and Lee walked through the front door laughing at my antics, "It's not what it looks like. Okay, it is."

Ryan amusinglly laughed, "Something good happened that I'm not aware of?"

"Obviously she's excited that we got home, Ryan." I could see Lee's glaring eyes staring at places he's already seen and made me love so much.

"OBVIOUSLY, I'm happy because I got a job!" Ryan's eyes shifted from the living room to where I was sitting at the kitchen island.

"You wanted a job? I thought you were just going to be here, with me, chilling and waiting for me to get home." Was he being serious? He must be joking if I was going to wait here for him to get back home for almost six hours.
"Well, yeah." I looked down, "I needed something to do, Ryan."
