Chapter 19 - Sneaking out

Rainbow's POV

Later that night...
1AM
I keep shuffling in my bed. I literally can't sleep at all. All I could think about is Applejack. How I wish she was here. I sat up from Sunset's bed and quietly walked up to the slightly open door. I peeked and saw the TV was still on in the living room. Twilight and Sunset fell asleep watching a movie. They're so cute together. I smiled slightly and walked to the bathroom as quietly as I could. I locked the door for some extra privacy. I never leave doors unlocked. I sat on the closed toilet seat. It was cold. I stood up and looked at my reflection on the mirror. I need a drink.
I washed my face with cold water and patted it dry with one of the towels on the rack. I'm gonna go for a walk. I walked back to the room and grabbed my now fully charged phone.

56 missed calls

All from applejack before last night's phone call.

I started typing. "Hey babe I just wanted to let you know that I love you so much. Sorry for being distant, just going through some things."

Unable to send message.

Great. My parents cut off my phone and I forgot to ask Sunset for the wifi password. sigh
I grabbed my sweater from the edge of the bed and put it on. Hopefully it's not too cold. I walked past Sunset and Twilight as quietly as I could until I got to the door. I unlocked the chains and began to open the door.

I stopped in my tracks and immediately looked back at them. Sunset grimaced and shuffled in the sofa. I was frozen in place. My heart was beating so fast. A few minutes passed and I was still in the same position. I opened the door a little more and thankfully it didn't creek. I stepped outside and the cold air cut through my thin sweater. I closed the door as quietly as I could, locking it from the inside before I fully closed it.
I began to walk down the street. McDonalds was about two blocks away so I decided to go there first and get some Wifi so I can text Applejack. It was dead out. No sign of life whatsoever.

I arrived at McDonalds and rushed to the door. It is hella cold out. The door is locked. Crap. Only the drive thru is open. What am I gonna do now?

"Whatever I'll just text her in the morning," I said to myself angrily. I began to speed walk back to Sunset's. I can't take this cold any longer.

I got back to Sunsets house and guess what my stupid self did? I locked the door before I left the house. I'm so stupid. How am I gonna get in? I slapped myself so hard in the face. I sat in the stairs and began to sob. I hate my life. I hate living like this.
I spent about an hour crying. I can't feel my feet or my hands. I got up from the stairs and began to walk. Where? Not sure. It is 2AM. What's open right now? I thought and thought but nothing came to mind.

"I'm gonna go visit Applejack," I whispered to myself. I know the way to her place from Sunset's. I walked as fast as I could but I felt like I was getting nowhere. My feet are so numb.

The street lights are dim and the sky is dark blue. The clouds are heavy. The wind is sharp with cold. The streets are quiet. There is still no one to be seen.

I got to the main street and there were a few cars passing by. I took a right turn and continued to walk.

"Hey you!" a deep voice yelled behind me.

Crap. My heart began to race. I kept walking but at a faster pace.

"Wait!" he yelled. I didn't look back. I should've stayed home. Crap.

I heard footsteps running behind me trying to catch up. I began to run. Don't know how but I was running. I couldn't feel a thing.
