never have i been engulfed
by the melancholy of the sea
or the heaviness of the air
or the hollowness of the hills
or the echo of the valleys
and if i ever tell you this
you must know that i'm lyingfor i have lived under the blues
for as long as i've had my memory
and the air has always pressed upon
the lining of my lungs to suffocate me
oh, i've gagged in this hollowness,
struggled to stay alive, to breathe,
but the loud echo of my silent cries
refuses to be held by my clenched teethso how do you taste the heaven
with the winter in your heart
and how do you break the barriers
if people start calling them art?
how do you consume someone's soul
if you can't return them much,
oh, how do you let them embrace you
if you are this tender to touch..~ • ~ • ~
