do you remember our neon kiss
lingering on the sweet silver lining
around the essence of my dreams,
glowin' so purple in the dark night?we strolled on the wet sidewalks
by the street between the curb lines
while the city lights formed a halo
around your luminous silhouettethe voices of the entire town floated
in the soft silence resting between us
while i saw your eyes reflecting it all,
the dim purple glow in vacuum tubesif i could give you a name, i'd call you
'neon' of all the hues i ever came across
for you remind me of long winter nights
when the city lights shine bright
and the skyscrapers hug our subdued existence
into an oblivion unknown to human eyesi'd call you neon because you glow soft
and make me want to lose my mind,
you make me crave adventures on the highways,
and kisses in the faintly lit alleywaysi'd call you neon because you've met my darkness
with gentle whispers that intoxicate my senses
and make me feel drunken on expensive liquor,
so drugged on long drives into late nightsyou remind me of muted rhythm and blues
vibrating the walls outside gooey nightclubs
reminiscent of fine silk on smooth skin
sparkling like stars embedded in the skyi'd call you neon because you burn bright
while i stand trapped in shadows
smiling in awe of your luminiscent glow
that reminds me of escaping with you and never ever lookin' backso my love, will you drop the weight
of every bad memory and take me away
let me dance under the city lights,
let my laugh linger on crowded streets
let me lose my mind to intoxicated whispers
oh my love, take me away from my sorrows
and let me call you 'neon' just once~ • ~ • ~
