My Hero Academia: Rise of Ben 10, Book 1.

Ben 10: Origin

Ben had a strange dream.

He was floating through a large glowing green chamber made of strange dark metal.. and what looked like strands of DNA were flying past him like spiraling ladders. 

A voice spoke out to him. 

"What do you desire..?" It whispered. 

Ben didn't know why he answered. His head seemed to be muddled as he answered honestly. "I.. I want to be able to do what others can't to help. I see.. others every day suffering because of villains, of disasters.. I.. I don't want to sit on the sidelines.."

"You desire strength?" the voice whispered. 

"Yeah.." Ben murmured..

Suddenly a shape emerged in the darkness.. it looked like a creature of some sort.. with a tail.. ?

"I.. I want to get in to UA.. I want to be the best of them all, but not for me.." Ben whispered truthfully to the voice. "I want to be stronger than everyone else.. and faster, so I can always get there on time.. so I can save everyone.."

"Speed.." the voice whispered.. again another figure emerged in the darkness, this one slimmer, also with a tail, another one appeared next to it, looking like it had wings of some sort.

"I want to be able to think ahead, to be able to save others as effectively as possible.." Ben said. His voice moved involuntarily, and at this point, Ben realized something.. he wasn't speaking of his own free will.. the voice was willing him to speak out his most innate desires, his most selfish and unselfish wants..  but why? 

"Intelligence.." another shape emerged.. this time of something so small it was hard to see. 

"I want to have a voice for those who suffer.." Ben continued. "I want to find anyone no matter who needs help.. I want to protect everyone.. to be able to see who needs help in an instant.. to stand in the face of danger without backing down.. to take a bomb full in the face and still jump in to help."

"Sound... Sight... Fortitude... "  More shapes emerged in the darkness.  "Fire resistance..  Detection..  stealth and avoidance shall be attributed as part of Fortitude...  yes.. Unit of 10 complete. Welcome New User Ben Tennyson.  Lord Azmuth welcomes your participation in our Unity."

"Wait.. what are you talking about..? HUH!?" Ben screamed as suddenly the shadowy figures converged on him, grabbing him, and pulling him into the blackness..

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!" Ben sat up screaming.

He was sitting in a hospital bed.. a heart monitor sitting right next to him.. and sitting at his bedside was none other than-..

"Oh.. Young Tennyson! This is a relief." All Might grinned as usual as he held up a hand and waved. "For a moment we thought you might be beyond saving, but it seems you've had a chance after all. Thanks to.. erm.. unseen circumstances."

Ben breathed in and out, calming down. "What happened to me? The last I remembered... I.. blew up.."

"A strange device of unknown origin crashed into the street, as it so happened we were the unlucky ones who were there at the time of the crash." said All Might. "That was two days ago?"

Ben stared at All Might. "I.. I've been out for two days!? And you're here visiting me now!?"

All Might laughed. "What? Astounded that somebody as big as me would be the type to check upon on a nobody? That's what they all think isn't it.. but I don't think of any of those who I save as nobodies. If everyone was a nobody, then what worth would there be in saving them? There is no such thing as a Nobody. There is always a Somebody lurking inside, and that alone makes them worth saving no matter the cost."
