As we enter Tulsa, my mind flows back to the the nightmare.

Shuddering, I climb out of the car, and stretch my legs.

It feels good to be back home, safe, away from most danger. When I first came here, this place was just a rest stop, now it was the place I loved.

Soda puts his arm around my shoulder in encouragement, and I smile.

As we walk up the steps to the house, I'm met with the fragrances of cigar and cake.

The smell of cake makes my stomach grumble, and I realize I haven't eaten in days.

"I'm gonna make pasta." I say.

"Ya sure ya don't want me to make it?" Soda offers.

I shake my head, "Ya can't cook."

He chuckles as Ponyboy and Two-Bit come in.

Darry appears behind them a few seconds later.

Darry immediately comes up to me.

"I'm glad your safe." He says kindly.

He's always been like a brother figure to me, sadly, more than Dallas.

"I'm glad I'm back."

We hug, and break away as Richie walks in.

I stare at him for a moment, before I decide to thank him.

"Thank you. I didn't know ya ever really cared about me." I say softly.

He smiles and nods in response.

In no time, the pasta is ready, and we all devour the meal.

When I'm sure my appetite is satisfied, I lay in the couch.

The others join me, and we end up sleeping for most of the day.

"Caren?" I hear Soda's voice next to my ear.

"What?" I groan quietly, just now waking up from my sleep.

"What do ya want to do today?" He replies.

I look at him now, and smile sheepishly.

"We could lay in bed all day." I say, adding a tone of slyness to my voice.

He chuckles, knowing what I mean.

"Sounds good to me."

He helps me up, and maneuvers us around he sleeping bodies sprawled across the floor.

We make our way to our room.

The rest of the day was bliss.
