Chapter 28

Elizabeth's POV
I was sitting in the chair holding moms hand as I stared down at her peaceful face. "By the angel mom you forgot to tell me a lot of things" I whispered smoothing out her hair a bit

"I remember when I was younger and I cried about failing to knock down one of those stupid dummy dolls we practiced with and you told me that every shadowhunter failed at something but instead of giving up they got up and tried again." I started sighing before continuing, "you made me get right back up and start again. I hadn't cried again since then until all this craziness happened and a lot of relationship problems but now that you're back I don't know what to do to help. This whole time I thought if I found you I would prove that all these years of training was worth it but I wasn't even the one to find you and I don't know how to wake you up. I'm weak mom" I stuttered out shaking my head

"You're not weak" a voice rings out and I snap my head up a deep blush covering my cheeks. "Alec what are you doing here?" I said giving moms hand one last squeeze before walking up to him

"You're the strongest person I know. Physically and mentally. You fight like a ninja which seems impossible at times and by the angel I put you through hell emotionally and you still overcame it. I'm going to spend the rest of my life making it up to you love I promise" he says and I smile softly

"Thanks Al but there is a lot of things you don't know about me. You've seen the bad ass shadowhunter but I've failed lots of people in my life. That doesn't matter right now though why'd you come?" I ask and he shakes his head grabbing my hands. "We're talking about this later but Clary may have found a way to wake up your mother. The book of the white has the spell to wake her up and Izzy just called for back up they're in Magnus's apartment" he says

"Oh hell no" I muttered walking in. "What the hell is this bitch doing here?" I hissed as I saw Camille who was being pushed away by Magnus

"The little shadowhunter is back. I should have killed you" she smirked and I pulled out my seraph blade about to kill the girl

"Liz no she has the book" Izzy says holding me back. "One wrong move and your dead.... well dead again" I glared

Alec walks next to me pulling me against him as he protectively grips my waist looking down at me with reassuring eyes

"I need to talk to Clary real quick I'll be back" he says pecking my lips before walking to the back

"He has to talk to Clary willingly? that's the first" I mumble to Izzy who laughs nodding her head

"When we wake your mom up we should start our Parabatai training you know. The sooner the better" she says and I nod

"You know once we do this there is no going back we're bound together for life" I said and she grins

"You say that like it's a bad thing I'm awesome" she says flipping her hair over her shoulder. "Hell yeah!" I said kissing her cheek

"Should I be worried that you are going to date my sister and not me?" Alec says smiling as he sits down on the couch pulling me over and sits me down on his lap

"Maybe" I winked blowing a kiss at Izzy who catches it and places it against her cheek making us laugh

"I'm worried about you" Alec whispers into my ear and I look at him questioningly "why? There is no need to be worried about me we have big problems at hand" I said and he sighs holding me a bit tighter

"What we were talking about earlier. I don't want you to think about yourself like that" he whispers and I frown placing my hand on his cheek as he looks me in the eyes

"I'm alright Alec as long as I'm with you I'm alright" I say and he smiled softly leaning in before being interrupted by Clary, Simon, Camille, and Magnus

"Let's go guys we have to go to Camilles apartment" Clary says walking out behind Camille and being followed by Simon and Magnus

"Al?" I mumbled as we got up and he looks at me before sighing and handing me his arrows before allowing me to jump on his back securing his hands under my thighs

"Is this going to be an every mission thing?" He asks as he follows everyone with Izzy chuckling beside us

"Of course I'm surprised you haven't found that out yet" I said kissing the back of his neck softly making him shiver

I smirked loving his reaction as he blushed looking forward. "You know big brother I would always ask you for a piggy back ride and you never would let me" Izzy pouts as we walk to Simons van

Alec immediately pulls me onto his lap since there wasn't enough seats for everyone. I moved a little so that I could be more comfortable making Alec groan softly in my ear

"You don't learn do you?" He says referring to the first time i has to sit in his lap when we went to the city of bones

I smirked kissing the side of his neck making him shut his eyes tightly. "What if I like doing this to you?" I whispered and he groans again

"You're not helping my problem" he grits out and I chuckle

"You guys are making me uncomfortable" Camille says from the front seat. "I could care less what you feel Camille" I let out making her huff

Magnus high fived me and I chuckle realizing how much he really disliked her. After a few minutes I look at Alec who was looking out the window biting his lip

"You know you shouldn't do that if you want me to stop" I said running my thumb across his bottom lip so he could release his lip from his teeth

He shrugged shifting uncomfortably and Clary slaps my arm lightly. "Stop moving so much I'm right next to you" she says and I chuckle letting Alec slide with this one as he blushes

This was going to be along car ride

"What's bothering you so much Al?" I question as we searched a separate room full of books in Camilles apartment looking for the book of the white

"It's Jace he thinks he's a killer ever since he found out that Valentine is his father. I don't know how to help him El" he says sitting down on one of the tables

I frowned walking up to him as he wraps an arm around my waist pulling me against him as he buries his head in my neck

"We will all help him together Al. He's going to be okay" I said smiling at him reassuringly once he pulled back

"Okay that's enough chitter chatter let's find this book" he says and I shook my head at his immediate change in behavior

That was until we heard a portal being opened behind us

Whipping around with my seraph blade in hand and Alec ready with his bow we watched as circle members piled out the portal with weapons ready

Wasting no time we quickly began fighting for a few minutes before I the guy in front of me pointed the blade behind me

"Stop or he dies" he said and I looked back to see Alec struggling against the hold of around three circle members before I felt the cool tip of the blade being pressed against my throat

"Why do I always get myself into these situations" I muttered as one of the guys holding Alec out a seraph blade to his throat dragging us out and into the main room where everyone was in the same position except Clary and Jace

"Elizabeth honey you're here sorry we left off on a bad foot" Valentine says and I glare at him as he motioned for the guy to let me go

The circle member pushed me making me stumble in the middle making Alec struggle harder against the circle members

"Elizabeth join me and your brother"
