STEPHEN'S POV

Ruby and I will be welcoming our little boy, James into the world at some point today which I and everyone else is excited about. I think in today's standards having children in your early twenties, (I'm 21 and Ruby is 23) isn't as bad as having children when you're still a child yourself or when you're at higher risk of having children with medical conditions (late 30s, early 40s) but it doesn't mean that it'll happen to everyone. Of course my Mum and Dad are excited for me and Ruby and of course little James when he arrives today. For James' arrival myself and Ruby have got everything that he needs for when he comes home with us.

A FEW HOURS LATER...

After waiting hours and hours, and Ruby going through the painful process of birth, our little James Martin Jason Douglas has arrived! We're both very excited that he's finally here, that's until the surgeon who helped get him out says to us both:

"The next baby will be here in just a minute". We both look at the doctor stunned, it's twins! But how did we not know?! I then interject and say:

"I'm sorry, who will be here in a what now?"

"The next baby will be here. You do know it's twins, right?"

"Oh, yeah! These are the faces of two people in the know!" I say in complete shock. So, James has a twin brother or sister! I guess we'll have to wait until they make their appearance, and sure enough a few minutes later the next baby arrives... it's another boy! After getting over the shock of having not one, but two babies we name our second twin Christopher-Ryan David, so they both have quite lengthy names.

TWO DAYS LATER, TUESDAY 30th NOVEMBER 1943...

Today, myself and Ruby will be filling out James and Christopher's birth certificates, which look fairly similar to mine:

Sex: MALE

Place of Birth: AJAX, TORONTO

Parent(s): STEPHEN-PAUL THOMAS WHIBLEY and RUBY LOUISE STANHOPE-WHIBLEY

Date of Registration: TUESDAY 30th NOVEMBER 1943 (11/30/1943).

In a few days time we can take the boys home and introduce them to everyone, which I'm pretty sure will be interesting because obviously everyone will be expecting us to turn up with just one child not two! But, more the merrier, eh? Once we get home, I'm going to of course help Ruby with the boys but I'm also going to finish up on the song that I'd written for James, when I thought we were only having one baby until Christopher made a surprise appearance! So, I'll see you all in the future with two little bundles of joy to handle, please send help! I'm only joking, I think we can all manage... for now!.
