STEPHEN'S POV

Today, I'll be leaving Ruby and the boys for South Korea to help my fellow troops with the ongoing Korean War which has been going on for the past two years. My role in all of this is to of course fly my plane, but also to give my comrades the necessary supplies that they need whilst in combat; I do feel bad for leaving everyone behind again (Ruby, James, Christopher, my parents and my uncles) but I've been called up once more, to defend Queen and country which I'm not going to turn down as much as I hate leaving my family behind. On a more lighter note despite the threat of a continuous war, Ruby and I are to be parents again for the second time! We're both excited about the news of course, as are James and Christopher who are ecstatic to become big brothers, but it seems to be a big age gap between the boys and the baby because they're eight (turning nine on the 28th November). Because we've got two boys, it would be nice to have a girl but neither of us are too fussed, as long as the baby is healthy then that's all that matters. Whilst I'm over in Korea I will be keeping in contact with both Ruby and the boys and my Mum and Dad, so I'll be able to fill everyone in with what I'll be getting up to and be able to inform them if anything life threatening is ever to happen to me whilst I'm out here, which I hope doesn't happen. With all of my stuff packed, it's now time for me to leave Ruby and the boys, this will be the first time that I'm going to be away from the boys for a long time, even they know that it'll be a good while until they can see me again because they keep asking when I will be back home, but I obviously can't guarantee them my safety because I'm heading off into a war zone for the first time in twelve years with my life on the line once more, but I'm trying to remain positive for the boys and especially Ruby who doesn't need the stress and worry of whether her husband is going to return living or dead or in one piece even. The plane I will be flying during this war is the DH (de Havilland) 100 Vampire, who is a jet powered fighter-bomber I will be in charge of flying the plane and of my crew, since my award ceremony a few years back I now have the rank of Major, like my Uncle Frank in the Great War. So, my job as a Major in the Royal Canadian Air Force is being second-in-command of a squadron amongst others. I hope to be home soon once this war is over, whenever that may be and then I can get back to Ruby, James and Christopher.

He called her on the road
From a lonely cold hotel room
Just to hear her say I love you one more time
But when he heard the sound
Of the kids laughing in the background
He had to wipe away a tear from his eye
A little voice came on the phone
Said "Daddy when you coming home"
He said the first thing that came to his mind

I'm already there
Take a look around
I'm the sunshine in your hair
I'm the shadow on the ground
I'm the whisper in the wind
I'm your imaginary friend
And I know I'm in your prayers
Oh I'm already there

She got back on the phone
Said I really miss you darling
Don't worry about the kids they'll be alright
Wish I was in your arms
Lying right there beside you
But I know that I'll be in your dreams tonight
And I'll gently kiss your lips
Touch you with my fingertips
So turn out the light and close your eyes

I'm already there
Don't make a sound
I'm the beat in your heart
I'm the moonlight shining down
I'm the whisper in the wind
And I'll be there until the end
Can you feel the love that we share
Oh I'm already there

We may be a thousand miles apart
But I'll be with you wherever you are

I'm already there
Take a look around
I'm the sunshine in your hair
I'm the shadow on the ground
I'm the whisper in the wind
And I'll be there until the end
Can you feel the love that we share
Oh I'm already there
Oh I'm already
There
