Too Hard

I found the tears
to be
Cooler than my shower water

Which was weird
to me
Because I'm use to them streaming hotter

To me, you appear
to see
Me as a challenge of a daughter

Do you have to convince the mirror
to cheat
To ignore a clay heart, you potter?

The thing that stings and seers
to meet
Is the fact that you've no reason to conjure

It wouldn't wound me to tears
to see
Why you do not want me, but her

You only want me near
to plea
A forgiveness for my falters

All I wanted was clear
to heal
Admitting on both sides, not slaughter

But if you ever choose to hear
to be
A better version of a stepmother and father

You gotta face the fact that:

If you're trying this hard to love me,
Maybe it's not love.
