I found the tears
to be
Cooler than my shower waterWhich was weird
to me
Because I'm use to them streaming hotterTo me, you appear
to see
Me as a challenge of a daughterDo you have to convince the mirror
to cheat
To ignore a clay heart, you potter? The thing that stings and seers
to meet
Is the fact that you've no reason to conjureIt wouldn't wound me to tears
to see
Why you do not want me, but herYou only want me near
to plea
A forgiveness for my faltersAll I wanted was clear
to heal
Admitting on both sides, not slaughterBut if you ever choose to hear
to be
A better version of a stepmother and fatherYou gotta face the fact that:
If you're trying this hard to love me,
Maybe it's not love.
