16) Growing Closer

SuperStrength; Tweak?

Engineering~dream; Yes cap?

SuperStrength; u ok?

Engineering~dream; yes why?

SuperStrength; because ur in hq by ur-self and crying.

Engineering~dream; how'd ya know?

SuperStrength; I'm on the other side of hq. Is there something you wanna talk about? You know you can always tell me anything. :)

Engineering~Dream: oh captain I didn't see you in here I'm sorry

SuperStrength: don't apologize what's wrong?

Engineering~Dream: it's nothing

SuperStrength: you're crying alone in the hq it's not nothing

Engineering~Dream: I'm just thinking

SuperStrength: long day?

Engineering~Dream: just a bit

SuperStrength: u can tell me u know

SuperStrength: I'm your captain

Engineering~Dream: just thinking about my old job

SuperStrength: you worked in an engineering firm didn't you

Engineering~Dream: yup

SuperStrength: was it bad

Engineering~Dream: it got me money I can't complain

SuperStrength: but you're crying about it

Engineering~Dream: I was young and fresh out of uni with my engineering degree

Engineering~Dream: I thought I could make a difference, help the greater cause, ya know?

SuperStrength: that's why ur an octonaut

Engineering~Dream: every single other engineer in my section of the firm was male

SuperStrength: really?

Engineering~Dream: yup. No females. there were some in design but I was the only one in practical engineering, building things and putting them together.

SuperStrength: why?

Engineering~Dream: I had to fight twice as hard just to get my job

Engineering~Dream: they weren't willing to take a girl in but I had come top in my degree and I already had a large portfolio of designs and drawings, everything they looked for

SuperStrength: you showed me your drawings when you got the job here, they were incredible tweak

Engineering~Dream: it was so gender stereotypical where I worked

Engineering~Dream: they made fun of the way I worked and made endless jokes about how I was scared I might stain my pretty fur with dirt or oil, even though I wasn't afraid at all to get dirty

SuperStrength: that's terrible!

Engineering~Dream: that's the reason I left

Engineering~Dream: I told the manager that they were being unfair and horrible to me

Engineering~Dream: he laughed then sacked me on the spot

SuperStrength: why did you never tell anyone?

Engineering~Dream: I was scared I'd be treated like that again

Engineering~Dream: it sounds petty but I was being bullied

Engineering~Dream: just because I was a girl

SuperStrength: you know we would never treat you like that. ever.

Engineering~Dream: I know. I don't know why I suddenly reminded myself of that.

SuperStrength: why now?

Engineering~Dream: I saw an article in the paper this morning saying my old business had been shut down

SuperStrength: isn't that good?

Engineering~Dream: it just brought back old memories, that's all

Engineering~Dream: I'm over it now

SuperStrength; Tweak. I didn't know it came this hard for you.

Engineering~dream; eh. I've been through harder. X'(

SuperStrength; need a hug?

Engineering~dream; sounding like shellington now :)
