Chapter 16: Promise? Deal.

Satori and I sit on the bench in the park waiting for Tobio. We were currently holding pinkies while Satori held my duffle bag in his other arm, afraid of Tobio catching us in the act.

Suddenly, I heard footsteps and I quickly look up. There he is. I subtly let go of Satori's pinky and stand up, staying in place. Tobio comes to a stop a few feet in front of me. We stare at each other for a few seconds before I start tearing up and run into his arms. He stumbles back from the impact as I smile into his chest as he holds me tight. We let go of one another and look at each other.

Both Y/N and Tobio in their head:
Ah. They've been crying.

We stare at each other awkwardly until Tobio clears his throat and looks away, embarrassed. "Let's uh.. let's go home." I nod before turning to Satori. He slowly stands up and walks towards us. He hands me my duffle bag while glaring at Tobio. "Listen you brat," he points at Tobio accusingly, "hurt her again and I'll track you down, got it?"

Tobio's face becomes red and he straightens his posture. He stutters out, "y-yes sir!" "Good!" Satori turns to me and pats my head, "if you ever need help again you can always come to your favorite senpai, manager-chan~" I chuckle, "yes sir, I'll make sure to go to Semi-Senpai." His hand immediately comes to a halt before he looks down at me offended, "o-oi!"

I roll my eyes playfully before I turn to Tobio, "ready?" He looks down at me before taking my duffle bag and hanging it on his arm, "almost." He turns to Satori before bowing, "thank you for taking care of my sister!" He stands back up straight only to see Satori with his arms crossed. "Yeah yeah, just take her home safely."

I giggle, "bye Sa- Tendo-Senpai.. I'll text you when I get home." He nods, "bye Kageyama-chan." I give him a little wave before turning back to Tobio and repeating my question, "ready?" He looks at me with a small smile, "ready."

Time Skip to Home

Tobio and I sat awkwardly next to each other on the couch, waiting for the other to speak. He clears his throat, "s-so.. is he your boyfriend?" My eyes widen before I whip my head towards him, "H-HOW'D YOU FIGURE IT OUT?" He shrugs, "the way you guys look at each other. Especially you. I've known you our entire lives, I know how you are with the guys you like." I slouch, and to think that entire time I could've hugged him more.

"So. You're not mad?" He shakes his head, "no. He seems like he cares about you." I blush and look at the floor, "y-yeah." He sticks his hand out and I look up, confused. "Promise me we'll always be best friends." I smile at him softly and shake his hand, "deal."

Time Skip to a Few Days Later

I sit at my desk doing homework before I hear a knock on my door, "come in~" Tobio opens the door and stays there, "Karasuno is having a practice match against Aoba Johsai.. I asked the coach and he said you could tag along.. so.. would you like to?" My eyes brighten up, "wait are you serious? Of course!" He nods, "the match is in a few days, you'll get to ride the bus with us." I nod my head eagerly as Tobio leaves my room, shutting the door.

I quickly grab my phone and jump onto my bed giddily. I open up Hajime's contact and go to text him, "guess what? I'm tagging along with Karasuno to your guy's practice match!" I press send and go to my group chat with Kindaichi and Kunimi. "Guess who's going to Aoba Johsai to observe the practice match in a few days.." I press send then set my phone down and lay on my back, staring at the ceiling. I can't wait to see my old friends again. But more importantly, I can't wait to see how strong Karasuno is.

hey guys! it's been awhile tehe. sorry if this chapter is a little short. didn't really know where to go with it. i've read back the story so far and i've realized so many things i don't like. i feel like i rushed the reader and satori's relationship. like. they're already a couple! then again, i don't plan on making this novel so long. the reader and tobio's relationship is also weird. tobio is pretty out of character. i originally wanted them to be more like. not enemies but rivals (the title ooo) but tobio is just an overprotective brother while the read is extremely bubbly. kinda want to make them more.. competitive? against each other? like a love hate relationship. i don't know. it's kind of too late to go back and change that.. tell me what you guys think! want any changes? any new stuff? also. is the title good? should it just be rivalry or sibling rivalry? i feel like it was sibling rivalry and i changed it to rivalry for some reason. was also thinking about changing the cover but who knows if i actually will. there's just so much i wish i could change but i guess i could slowly change that as the story progresses? although i don't know how i can change the reader and tobio's relationship to be what i want it to be; competitive. it defeats the purpose of the title. thank you guys for all of the comments and just know that i do read all of them and they all make me smile! so thank you for the endless support! please leave some feedback, mo-chan OUT!
