Elena's POV

We found shelter after surviving a battle between stone giants during a storm. I'm keeping watch with Bofur, when Bilbo tries to sneak out. "Where do you think you're going?" Bofur asks in a whisper so as not the wake the others. But I notice Thorin awake listening.

"Back to Rivendell" Bilbo answers.

"Why?" I ask him confused. I know Thorin was harsh earlier with his words when Bilbo nearly fell off the mountain. But that's no reason to leave.

"No, no, you can't turn back now, you're part of the Company. You're one of us" Bofur tells Bilbo earnestly.

"I'm not though, am I? Thorin said I should never have come, and he was right. I'm not a Took, I'm a Baggins, I don't know what I was thinking. I should never have run out my door" Bilbo explains.

"I'll go with you Bilbo" I tell him.

"You're homesick; I understand" Bofur tells Bilbo.

"No, you don't, you don't understand! None of you do you're dwarves. You used to to
this life, to living on the road, never settling in one place, not belonging anywhere" Bilbo states. Bofur looks offended, and Bilbo is repentant. "I am sorry, I didn't..." he tries to say.

"No, you're right. We don't belong anywhere. I wish you both all the luck in the world. I really do" Bofur states. I roll up my bed roll and put on my cloak as Bilbo waits. "What's that?" he asks Bilbo. I look over to see Bilbo unsheathe his sword, which is glowing blue.

"Wake up. Wake up!" Thorin shouts to the others. Before anyone can react, the floor of the cave collapses downwards; the floor is really a giant trap door. The entire Company falls down a chute. I unsheathe my claws and dig them into the wall gritting my teeth. The others continues to fall and land in a wooden cage. I cling to the wall out of view.

I watch goblins take the dwarves away Bilbo somehow gets missed by the goblins; not seeing him they leave him behind. Nori, looking over his shoulder, sees this happen. Bilbo scampers behind some railing to hide as he watches the goblins proceed through the tunnels. Bats fly in the darkness. Bilbo draws his sword, which is glowing bright blue, and slowly follows.

I look up and knew I had to get help. Bilbo will be fine. But the others might not be. I turn into a panther and start to climb up the chute. Only my cloak remained as the rest of my clothes tore away. I reach the cave and catch my breath. Then take off the way we came looking for Gandalf. I find him halfway down the mountain.

"Elena" he says shocked. I turn making sure my cloak covers my body.

"Dwarves captured by goblins, Bilbo following them. They need us" I tell him.

"Lead the way" he tells me. I turn and remove my cloak to give me more movability. I run back to the cave and we slide down the chute. "Can you track them?" he asks me. I nod my head and track the dwarves. But as we arrive in goblin town, the stench of goblin over powers their scent. I look at him and paw my nose. "When in doubt, follow the noise" he tells me.

We follow the nose of cheering goblins and the sound of awful singing. "Bones will be shattered, necks will be wrung! You'll be beaten and battered, from racks you'll be hung. You will lie down here and never be found, down in the deep of Goblin town" someone sings. We arrive on the edge of the platform out of sight to see the company surrounded.

"Slash them! Beat them! Kill them! Kill them all! Cut off his head!" the goblin king shouts. A blinding light fills the room knocking the goblins off of their feet.

"Take up arms. Fight. Fight!" Gandalf shouts at the dwarves. I roar and tackle the nearest goblin biting his head off. "Elena lead the way!" he shouts at me. I nod jump onto a higher platform and smell a faint whiff of fresh air. I give a call to Gandalf and he nods his head. "Follow the panther and I. Quick! Run!" he shouts at the dwarves.
